Gran Bretagna Boutique Hotel Ortigia

We spent two night at this hotel. The location is really nice. I can’t say enough about the staff. They work flawlessly as a team and made our stay so comfortable. I wish I could write all their names in this review. Thank you for all you did for us.

das Hotel liegt direkt im Zentrum der Altstad, sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Geschäfte, Restaurants, Hafen etc. liegen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Auto zu parken daneben ist fast unmöglich, es gibt aber große Parking's relativ in der Nähe (10 Min. zu Fuß) - € 15,-/Tag. Man muss darauf achten, dass das Zimmer nicht in schräcklichen Innenhof rein schaut, sondern auf die Straße hinter dem Haus, mit dem seitlichen Meersblick. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig (ca. 25-30 m2), sehr sauber, relativ einfach, aber modern eingerichgtet, großes Badezimmer mit allem Notwendigen. Air Condition (warm-kalt). Die Straße ist bis zu 1 Uhr in der Nacht und ab ca. 6 Uhr in der Früh sehr laut, also um dfiese Zeit den Balkon zu öffnen ist kaum möglich. Administrator ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Früstück ist absolut OK - ziemlich vielfältig und sättigend. Für erholsame Aufenthalt bis zur 1 Woche sehr zu empfehlen

This hotel was very clean and in a good location for exploring Ortigia. Not too many stairs to reach the first floor. The breakfast was very good, and the young man in charge was very helpful several times on our 3 night stay. The rooms are plain but clean and large. We enjoyed the small balcony. On weekend nights the crowd below was quite loud, but the AC mostly muffled the outdoor noise.

Ortigia is an island and this hotel is in the best part of it. Walk to everything and a huge choice of restaurants and shops. Combine that with the charm of Ortigia I will be back again.

The owner is personally involved and attends to all detail. The hotel location is great for easy access to everything you would like in a stay.

Spacious and very comfortable room and bathroom, quite close to the entrance of the island, with an good location near a busy square. Excellent service by Andre at the desk who is super helpful. Breakfast was delicious and with many options, both hot and cold, and excellent coffee from Victoria who provided very attentive and warm service. We felt very welcome and the staff was the best part of this hotel. Just a few issues of concern: there is no elevator and a lot of steps to the second floor (but Andre helped us with luggage); and at nights there is a bar outside which can make a little noise until late. Parking is, like seems standard in Sicily, at a paid garage about 700m away. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay here next time we return. Ortigia is an excellent place to stay if visiting Syracuse.
