Very nice guesthouse, breakfast by the pool was perfect, hosts were very friendly

No air-condition, no fridge and no bar

The breakfast was quite good; some elements of the meal changed every day.

The one thing that was a bit unusual was that there were no rubbish bins inside the room (aside from a small bin in the bathroom).

The location is wonderful and clean. The host is very friendly. The position is very good to reach every interesting place by car.

When cycling down the West coast of Portugal we stopped off at this hotel for the night. We may have been arriving close to the end of the tourist season as there was plenty of work being completed on the property, and we were the only guests. We had a sizeable mini apartment for 4 people, which was very spacious and the beds comfortable (if you like a firm mattress, which I do especially after cycling). The room was quite basic, but not unpleasantly so. The communal lounge was also cozy and I think I fell asleep on the sofa for some time. There also appears to be a good looking games room, although we did not partake. The breakfast was a little average with a tinned fruit salad and some other bits and pieces. It is a nice quiet quinta in Janos (just 10 minutes drive from Sintra) Just 4 rooms and all the style is very quiet and home-like. Pedro and his father are excellent hosts: a lot of nice pieces of advice and reccommendations, very friendly and polite but not annoying or intrusive. We are absolutely alone on the quinta, no other guests. And it is very strange for me as the place is a real gem for romantic stay. By the way the restaurant recommended to us was pretty good as well as all other reccommendations regarding routes and sightseeing. As a nice farewell present we were given 2 bottles of their home wine, very delicious as well! It was really so pleasant... The only notice: there are moscitoes at night, so don't forget to close windows in the evening! To sum up: it is very pleasant and comfortable stay and the hosts are the best we met in Portugal during our 2 week trip!
