"5 Star Hospitality "

10.0

This is my second time staying at the Rhins of Galloway. On both occasions I’ve been warmly greeted and made very welcome. The owner has arranged a goodie bag for me in the morning on both occasions, as I’ve left early to catch a ferry. The standard of the rooms are excellent, with nice furnishings, modern appliances and a nice range of teas, coffee etc. Great location for both ferry ports or exploring Dumfries and Galloway.

"Very Impressed"

10.0

We were "WOWED" when we walked into our room. We didn't expect it to be as high-end as it was. The technology in the room was top-notch, including the built in tv in the wall above the nice huge soak bathtub (looks like a mirror until you turn it on). The lights had remote controls. The room was very nicely decorated - very comfortable bed. We loved it and wish we could've stayed another night. The people were amazingly nice and helpful and even left us a meal in a cooler outside our room because we had to leave super early for the Stenaline ferry at Cairnryan. It's only 2 miles from the ferry, so very convenient. We stayed in the Gloucester Suite. I highly recommend it!

"An absolute jewel in a distant setting."

10.0

Of all the establishments visited on our recent trip through parts of Europe and the UK, this was our very favourite. From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm. The propertty overlooks the bay and is surrounded by rolling hills. Upon entering the lobby, we were warmly greeted. The host is very familiar with the history of the surrounding area and is happy to share this with any who may be interested. The rooms, besides being very large, are impecibly decorated, spotlessly clean and well supplied with a range of items to be sure that no guest will go wanting. At one point I made a sport out of trying to find one thing, anything which they may have overlooked, but I could not. It was perfect. Sleep came easy in the comfortable oversized bed with high quality linens, and I slept soundly through until morning, when breakfast is served. Oh what a breakfast it is! Again, I was unable to find a single logical item which may have been neglected, but I could not. A wide array of fresh foods accomodating all sorts od diets and appetites were available, and our hot breakfast was absolutely delicious. Fortunately, there was only one other occupied table in the dining room at the time of our breaakfast, so we were able once again to learn a few more stories of the history of the area from our gracious host. Check-out was swift and simple, and we were sad to leave. While this is an out-of-the-way area of the country, I would strongly recommend the Rhins of Galloway to all.
