Hotel Alfonso VIII

Front desk was super friendly. Great experience overall!

Our room overlooked a park,and was quiet and comfortable. We ate at the 7th floor restaurant both nights, lovely views,and very reasonable 'menu del dia' even at night. The hotel had cafes nearby ,where we had breakfast. It was a fair distance from the cathedral,Plaza Major,etc. but driving and parking there was no problem.

The hotel gave easy access to the sights of Cuenca and was very comfortable. It has a rooftop restaurant with great views of the old town and surrounding hills. Staff were very helpful and most spoke English.

Good sized rooms at a decent price which are well located close to the main shopping area and 10 minutes walk from the hanging houses. Only downside was the building next door was very loud and kept waking us up at night, there were a bunch of people yelling until 4am. Not really the hotels fault maybe we just picked a night when there was a party next door.

Its about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the base of the hills which is where tourists will want to visit. There are lots of hostels closer, but if you want a bit more comfort and a decent shower, then this is a good hotel. Its clean, nothing too fancy , nothing uncomfortable either, and has a good WIFI connection. Just to note it is close ( 5 mins ) to a few latin clubs such as Siteo, Rodeo etc, which were nice places to have beer and listen to latin music. I would stay there again.

Hotel was good but our room had no view and overlooked other habited buildings. Hotel was close to shops and restaurants.

Room ok if you dont mind a completely dark room with a solid wall in front of the window.

Very small bedroom, awfull bathroom. Solid wall along three quarters of the bath, shower attached to this wall!! No light above so it was like showering in a very small dark cupboard. Also had cracked tiles and thread bare towels. No door on room safe, which had it worked would have cost €6. The worst thing about our overnight stay was the FIESTA in the small park opposite our room. Windows and shutters did nothing to cut out any of the noise (VERY VERY loud music) Despite asking three times to be moved was assured no other room available and that the noise would be over by One or Two am at the latest. Four am finally the music finished....then the cleanup began. So all in all not a good experience.

The hotel was everthing as shown. The location was great but parking not so good but where is it Spain.

Great restaurants and food. Views unbelievable from restaurant! Newly renovated rooms were really nice.
