Staff is good but owner not friendly and rude

The building and setting are absolutely lovely. The breakfast was good. However, on the night we stayed, the restaurant was closed. The owner did apologise for his oversight in not informing Hotels.com customers, but we could not understand why he could not either have made arrangements with other local places to provide cover or at least left a list of recommendations of places which would have been open. We could not find anywhere and had to miss out on an evening meal

A great choice for a quiet, somewhat remote stay in the alps. Beautiful area with quaint rooms and shared bathroom on each level. Not a luxury spot but well worth the effort to visit and stay there - would recommend it!

It was a beautiful located hotel for the price.

Small chalet hotel up a winding mountain road. We were upgraded to a room with a private bath.The room had a beautiful view but...we had to tell the owner what time we were arriving so he could let us out n which put pressure on us to arrive on time. When we arrived he told us the restaurant was closed. The closest one was about 9km down that same winding road. Fortunately there was a small shop where we could buy buns, cheese etc. My question is when he emailed to ask our arrival time why didn’t he tell us then that the restaurant was closed we could have eaten before arriving at the hotel.

After visiting 88 countries and spent 100s and 100s of nights in hotel, this grumpy rude person running this hotel has to be one of the worst highlights of it all. I have made and paid reservation around 10:40PM to sleep a night here (only due to logistics), and as Im driving there I give him a call. He said "You dont come here, we are closed, you can not come"...but he picked up a landline, so I knew for a fact that he is in house. I asked him, as it is a pre-paid reservation, and Im a short drive away, could he at least please leave a key in a mailbox, he just said no, in the rudest way possible. Having zero concern whatsoever about where I am going to stay, or the fact that I have a VALID reservation to his hotel. Also, leaving a key behind for a late (AND PRE-PAID) reservation is perfectly common everywhere in the world.... I can only imagine how he must be with the guests who actually make it there.
