The Lodge Outback Motel

The Receptionist has got to be the rudest person I have ever met in a reception role! Unwelcoming, unhelpful and just plain rude! Rooms are not clean, mould in the shower, used tissues under the bed. Be careful which room you choose. Our Heritage Spa room was like a shoebox. The proximity to town is the only thing this motel has going for it. Would not recommend

The property is about two or three blocks from the main street of Broken Hill, The town is very spread out and its a fair walk to get to any of the cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs etc. We had a hire car so that was not so much of a problem, the Motel had a good car park.

Arrival reception service was poor. The owner was quite rude when we arrived, admittedly we were a bit early, however we arrived by plane (four couples in all), we were told quite rudely check in is not until 3 o'clock, however all rooms were available, so it was no big deal, I thought. We could have left our bags and checked in later. Room was comfortable but a bit dated, our bed was very poor, mattress sloped to the sides and I fell out of bed on one occasion. Our room size was not too bad, however our friends' all said their rooms were very small. One couple asked to change rooms after one night. TV didn't work, had to be re-tuned.

No exhaust fan in bathroom or separate light in toilet area.

We liked that our room was spotless, comfy bed and bedding, tea and coffee facilities etc. Oh and the shower pressure and heat was amazing.
