Hotel, grounds, room and staff excellent

The food wasn’t consistent. The breakfast eggs Benedict was far too vinegary had to scrape the hollandaise off the eggs, eggs and toast ruined My main course evening meal. Pea risotto terrible, a huge bowl full of green ‘sauce’ with overcooked rice floating around in it, green asparagus on the top, I returned it and received a replacement chicken dish that was good, however my husband had nearly finished his lamb dish so we ended up not eating together. Charged for the chicken dish in full, which was dearer - the difference surely could have been absorbed for the inconvenience. A couple sat down next to us while we were eating g, the lady was deciding on the risotto I advised not to order it. I cook a very good risotto which is miles better than the bowl of goo presented. If it isn’t good take it off the menu.

The location was wonderful in a lovely village. The staff were nearly all very kind and friendly.

. Unfortunately, the floor above was creaky and noisy and at times when someone was moving around above us it sounded almost like they were in our room. Even before the weather warmed up we found our bedroom too hot even with the window open.

Breakfast had menu plus buffet all excellent staff friendly and helpful very cosy and comfortable we loved our stay will be returningwe

We loved it all could be a bit cheaper but we pensioners don't have a lot so don't know if expensive or not but will def be returning

Our room was amazing, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Lovely surroundings.
