Best Western Plus Accra Beach Hotel

❌Booked an airport transfer. Airport transfer didn’t turn up. Hotel said never received notification, yet a colleague who arrived the day before and whose details were on the same email did get picked up 🤔 ❌Waited almost 2hrs for food. One part of the meal came out cold - sent it back. The other had meat in it and had to be remade. I’ve been vegetarian for 40yrs. Left the restaurant to go to sleep. That didn’t last long…. ❌Woken by incessant knocking at my door. Manager had sent a fruit plate I didn’t want or order as way of an apology. ‘We’re not going to charge you for the food’ said the staff member tasked with delivering it. I burst out laughing ‘What food? You were going to charge me for nothing?’ 🤣 Absolute shambles. Avoid.

The breakfast was good. The environment was pleasant

Went to this place to enjoy a breakfast buffet with my kids. The price announced (20€ p.P.) was more than hefty but little did we know that it is also a punitive measure! Breakfast buffet is from 7 to 10 a.m., we arrived at 9 to find the buffet mostly empty, no bread, no butter, no scrambled eggs or omelette, 2/3 of chafing dishes empty, needed to ask for a refill of the juices and coffee. We settled to loot baked beans + Sausages and the the fruit-tray and Yogurt to at least get something in our stomachs. Without any refill the buffet was removed at 9:50 and only after some masssive complaint I managed to at least get a 2nd cup of coffee.I asked for a receipt, which I never got! The pool (8.50 € p.P.) appeared neat and clean, but like another reviewer stated, this impression changed when 2 veiled Muslim women appeared with 4 children , which bathed in their underwear without taking a shower, while the mothers stuck their unwashed feet into the children s pool. This, while supervising a young toddler that did not wear diapers!! Absolutely disgusting!!!! Meanwhile each and every employee we saw , was too busy to romance their smartphones, than to attend to us. The same applied to the uniformed security guards relaxing on the terrace. A piece of advice for all newcomers to Ghana: The louder the music and ambient noise , the poorer the food and service! And don't you dare to complain, ignorant of the fact that many Ghanians are half- deaf and extremely immune to noise! Any request for lowering the volume is considered an insult! I know this hotel for more than 20 years and it seems that they never resolved their multiple challenges with service and management over the years . There was no competent manager around ,when I asked to lodge a complaint. As smoking is forbidden in most areas, there is a designated smoking area - WITHOUT ASHTRAYS:::::: NOT RECOMMENDABLE, NEVER AGAIN!!!

Lovely view, food and fairly nice room

Front desk staff were not that helpful. I asked everyday that I was there to have my phone in the room repaired it was never done. I asked twice to have the rugby channel put on for the Lions Vs Australia test, it was never done.

I enjoyed the Sunday Brunch, the ambience is perfect, tranquiled. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful place and will make it my choice place.

I came for the Sunday brunch buffet, I enjoyed the variety of local and continental spread, especially the kotonmere, it’s a lovely place to relax after work or church.
