"nice in theory, smoke smelling room, poor service"

6.0

idea and location very lovely. our particular room smelled of smoke and when management told, did nothing more than open windows (stating all other rooms sold out). multiple communications with management failed (due to sleeping baby, asked not to knock with breakfast in morning and then someone did not). if your room doesn't smell of smoke (as i imagine most do not) and you don't need anything from the staff, it is a great alternative to the jerusalem hotels.

"million dollar view"

6.0

A bit rustic with minimal amenities but a million dollar view of the valley.

"Beautiful views of the Jerusalem Hills"

8.0

We stayed one night as we were attending a wedding at the Event Hall which is a few minutes' walk up the hill. The location was very convenient. We liked having a kettle & fridge in the suite so could make tea & coffee whenever we chose. There's also a microwave & outside, a barbeque which we didn't use. The restaurant near reception is independent from the hotel and not kosher. The hotel supplies a good breakfast in a basket delivered to the room, comprising various salads & dips, rolls, pita bread, cheeses & hard boiled eggs, a carton of orange juice & disposable plates & cutlery. It was all very enjoyable and it's possible in fine weather to eat it outside at a table on the terrace. The twin beds were a bit narrow but we had a good night's sleep. Soap in the bathroom is liquid from a dispenser. Milk (3%) was supplied in the fridge & some teabags & coffee sachets - but no decaffeinated coffee or herbal teas. We thought it was good value for money and would return.

"Off the beaten track, romantic and fun."

10.0

I really nice cabin/ zimmer based hotel around 20 minutes out of Jerusalem. The accomodation is clean and spacious with two seperate rooms. 1) Bedroom with double bed. 2) Large lounge area with a flat screen tv , small dining table. The lounge opens out to a lovely patio area with another table and chairs. Fridge included in the room. A babies cot was available when requested and set up for us. We were also offered a hot plate as we were staying over shabbat - no extra charge. Breakfast was lovely, delivered to the room. Various cheeses and breads, corn flakes, juice, olives, salad, boiled eggs and tehina. Pool area was close by although not exclusive to the hotel. Was busy over the weekend but not too busy. Lovely views from the hotels grounds. Overall a pleasant stay, not luxury accommodation but really decent and friendly staff.

"quiet, solitude"

8.0

If you're looking for a place that off the beaten path this is it. Really there is not a lot to do here, if that's what your looking for. You get a free breakfast which is simple, but plenty. There is 1 store on the way to the lodge, get all your stuff there. It comes with a small mid-sized fridge.

"Exceptional"

Finding the hotel was tricky, but we finally found it. We stayed only overnite, but it was nice. It was a Kibbuzt a working farm. The countryside was beautiful, peaceful and romantic. Nice place to stay, but no shopping close by.

"Great 'time out'"

8.0

Really surprised at how good Shoresh Green Hills was. After a busy time visiting all the great sites this was a great place to put up your feet and relax and ponder all that you have done. The villa easily accomodated our family of five (very comfortable) and the star of the property was the breakfast delivered by basket each morning. We found enough food to feed us all for breakfast and lunch! We found it was easy to drive to the locations we wanted to visit in Jerusalem and the Dead Sea/ Masada. I would head back there again and would happily take groups there in the future.

"Beautiful and peacefull place close to Jerusalem."

8.0

The property itself is ok - does the job. By Israeli standards even above average in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. There are no even signs of luxury whatsoever - it is quite basic. However the VIEW is worth a million dollars. If you drive a car and need a place to stay close to Jerusalem (15 min) and Tel Aviv (30 min) then this is a good choice. Note however there are no restaurants or other sources of food around :)
