Hyatt Place West Palm Beach

We stayed here over the Christmas holiday. The location is fantastic! It's just a short drive over the bridge, and you're at West Palm Beach in a matter of minutes. It's walkable to the beach if you don't mind walking about 15-20 mins. Based on prior reviews, we asked for a higher floor and room not facing the roadway. That helped cut down the noise considerably. The lobby is huge and inviting. They have a (paid) happy hour nightly and a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning. Breakfast consisted of pancakes or French toast, eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and pastries. You can also purchase snacks and sandwiches any time of the day. The room is spacious and provides plenty of room for a family of 4; it's also very clean. The separate living area with fridge and wet bar is nice. There's also a full-sized desk, which was great for doing a little work while there. The beds are spring beds, which were not the greatest, and the air conditioner in our room had issues. It was a wall unit, but you used a wall-mounted thermostat to control it, and if you kicked it down a few degrees, it blew the coldest air ever right at the bed. If you raised it 2 degrees, the heat would turn on at 70 degrees instead of just turning off and letting the room naturally reach that temperature, so we were either cold or hot, with no in-between. Other than that, it was a really good stay.

Staff at breakfast not very good and very slow to fullfill requests. Eg no hot water for tea asked several times for hot water urn to be refilled but not done. One day we waited 30mins for water and had to leave without cup of tea. Also when hotel full they run out of tea bags eg English breakfast and mint tea Most upsetting -there has been no response to my email sent on the 14th Dec regarding the adaptor, charger and cord I left plugged into to the wall in bar area. I called hotel on way to airport but no-one answered I contacted friends still at hotel to speak to reception but they said nothing handed in yet. So when I got home I sent an email and 2weeks later still no response
