"An excellent facility in an excellent location - I would stay there again in a heartbeat!"

10.0

Staff was exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. Abs, the day manager, was most charming and attentive. Restaurant, featuring French specialties, was very good and offered both full meals and light fare. The location was very convenient - almost directly across from the National Museum and an easy walk to many other attractions.

Toilet in junior suite did not have a separate compartment. This is a drawback when sharing a room, even with one's partner. Also, the creaky floors might bother people not used to old buildings. I live in an old building in an old city so they did not bother me.

"Ideal for a central stay in relative luxury"

7.0

Staff were excellent and thoughtful. The room was decorated beautifully and the breakfast was delicious.

Room was a bit cramped and maybe some thoughtful touches with the room itself. For example, switches could have been labelled as there was no obvious switch for the extractor fan and we never managed to find one. Also the towel rail has been installed ahead of the door stop so gets hit with the door.

"Catch up with friends"

10.0

We visited Hotel Du Vin for a last minute dinner before we headed to the Festival Theatre. Very nice restaurant and very central. We went for the prix fixe menu 29.95 for 3 courses which is fantastic. Everything was great from start to finish. We were very well looked after by the lovely Carrie-Anne, a very professional, polite and friendly young lady, nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was very tasty and well presented. Thank you to Hotel Du VIN for such a lovely evening, we look forward to our return!

"Hotel Du Vin is wonderful"

10.0

If you are looking for the absolute best hotel for a Edinburgh visit, Hotel Du Vin IS it! Coming straight off an overnight flight, we were expecting to have to store our bags and wait 6 hours to check in but NO, they had our room ready and we got right in! I know this can’t be done regularly but the fact that they even did it this time is just incredible and very much appreciated. Next, our room (larger bed) was huge by European standards, beautifully appointed, quiet and as comfortable as home. The location is just perfect with pretty much all of the attractions within walking distance. The staff here has been universally wonderful and friendly. I highly, highly recommend this hotel!
