Hotel Landgut Ochsenkopf

You can park at premises, calm environment, fresh air. Not to far from Ferropolis (we went to drift masters there, so it was ok)

No a/c (if hot outside, it's hot inside. Small windows does not help with an air flow). Very poor breakfast (you get two types of buns, 4 or 5 types of sliced meat, 3 types of sliced cheese, boiled eggs (only hot dish), no veggies and some other minor things), double bed with two separate mattresses, no fridge.

It was nice to have a restaurant downstairs and to be able to hangout in the main area outside. The restaurant staff was very nice

This hotel is right on the border of Saxony. If you're not familiar with Saxony, we were not, it is an AfD stronghold. BE VERY CAREFUL! My partner, who is not white, was violently attacked, racial slurs, in the parking lot about 15 minutes after we arrived. Later on the main woman working there didn't believe me that my partner had paid another staff member for a coffee. Mind you that we had paid for an extra night just to get early check in, which we didn't mind, but now were being policed for a coffee that we had already pay for! Also, the internet didn't work in our room. Avoid room 3 if you need that. The signal was too weak.

After the initial misunderstanding the staff was actually pretty nice. Access to the property is easy and you can come and go as you like.

WiFi cannot be described as available...even my phone LTE signal was providing faster connection. Additionally you could hear everything that was going on in the building since the insulation was very much also not existing

We arrived around 17:00 after a long day of driving with our 7 months old baby. We had booked (and paid!) a room beforehand. The hotel door was locked, no bell, no information, nobody there. We knocked loudly several times, tried to call their number without reaching anyone. Even knocked at the private house next to the hotel, assuming that the owner or caretaker could live there. After one hour of waiting and repeatedly trying to reach the property we gave up. Luckily, there was another hotel in the vicinity which still had a room for us. Booking.com customer service was no help either by the way, they informed us that the property claimed that someone was there when we arrived. We never got our money back.

Nice location in the middle of the forest. Quiet. Comfortable room.

Wifi was non existent or simply no log in information. The man at reception on arrival was not particularly welcoming, we seemed quite an inconvenience. Both of us are vegan (which he seemed to find amusing) so didn’t really expect anything suitable on the breakfast menu. There was no kettle or coffee in the room (pretty standard in rooms these days) so we asked if we could just buy a cup of coffee at breakfast but he said we either bought a whole breakfast (that we couldn’t eat) or had nothing.
