Texas Inn Weslaco

My husband and I stayed here last night (02/04/15) because my grandma's funeral was this morning. My brother paid for us and said he would pay for us again tonight. They already had his cc info since he used it for us the 1st night, however they would not extend our stay without my brother handing them his cc again. I told them he already left to my grandma's funeral and he could come right after, the manager got rude and said no. I told her I was running late to my grandma's funeral so if I could please come back after she gets buried, she said no. So we had to go back to the room and we couldn't get in cause of the room key not working. So we had to wait for the housekeeper to open it for us so we could get our stuff. Needless to say, I made the funeral right when it finished. These people and this hotel suck. It's noisy, smells and the people are rude. Don't recommend it at all. Only reason I was going to stay again was cause my brother offered to pay.

Nothing fancy but overall okay for the price. Everything worked as expected. Shower enclosure a little stained and tub had some porcelain chipped off. Air conditioner was loud but that same unit is used in may other locations. When running it drowned out any traffic noise. :-)

The room was spacious and furnished with an elegant bed and reclining chair. A business desk was also placed and did not crowd the space. The bathroom was very spacious, had a modern shower.

Very easy check in, friendly staff, has washer and dryer. Very clean pool, parking is good, Check out was fast,

No plug for bathtub. No iron & ironing board. AC was incredibly loud, but cooled nicely. Sheets not changed nightly. Floors not swept daily.

Our birding group was unable to book the location we desired so waited to get to the Valley to book something...so I guess we deserved what we got. The rooms are very basic, beds are comfortable and room was clean although the daily seems of bleach in the maid's water left a distasteful odour and left us wondering. As another reviewer mentioned, towels were rough (& small); no coffee machine, one chair to relax in, and no decoration in the room. I've never spent time in an army barracks, but I doubt they would be more spartan. Hard too be complimentary about the complementary breakfast; bad coffee, dry rolls, orang coloured flavour crystals, sugary peanut butter...you get the drift. One couple in our party relocated to another hotel because of noise that the hotel staff preferred not to deal with. Lugging our luggage up to second floor was a bit of a challenge for all of our party but a real challenge for at least one in the absence of an elevator. Did I mention how noisy the traffic was? Net, net: I 'd stay somewhere else next time.

The price was too much for the room. Room was clean but needs remodeling. Missing essencial items for the price.

The hotel manager was rude. She yelled at my Children for going down the stairs too loud, and rudely came to ask how many people were in my room. She should of checked our reservation first. Also she said that we were being too loud that others stay year round in the rooms. She should have offered us a room on the 1st floor or away from working customers. Children are on Spring Break Vacation and should not have to tip toe around for that price.

We arrived to the valley and we stayed at The Texas Inn. I wasn't so sure after reading the reviews that I would want to stay but I wanted to give it a try. I have the complete opposite opinion of this place. I was more than Happy with the staff. Everyone did their very best to make our stay wonderful. The floors now are ceramic tile and very nice. The beds were comfortable and I have a bad back but it was comfortable for me. The staff bent over backwards to do as we asked. The pool I wish was warm enough to be in but it wasn't, to me that was the only downfall. I will stay again next year. Thanks Texas Inn

Good location, pool was small, below average breakfast, had to ask everyday for towels for 4 people (only provided enough for 2)
