Avalon Airport Hotel Thessaloniki

This hotel was lovely with large rooms, comfortable msttress, good food and drinks, nice lobby, very clean and great staff. Vrey close to airport without noise from airplanes. Shuttle service from and to airport or car rentals. close to

Staff were friendly and the hotel offered an airport shuttle that you had to book ahead of time, which was super easy. Had a very Mediterranean look to it which we enjoyed

This was our first time at this hotel. It was very nice and convenient to the airport. Rooms are very clean, hotel staff is very nice, they offer a very good breakfast and shuttle to airport. I would definitely stay hear again.

Rooms were clean. Breakfast was perfect. Pool area was wonderful. Transportation to airport was a plus.

The hotel has no air conditioning outside the rooms. While the rooms were excellent in cooling, the hallways were stifling. I can imagine that in a heatwave this may become extremely unbearable. Outside of that, the Avalon experience was very good.

Nice, hardworking people. Very nice, good service. The flowers at the entrance are well-loved. No one came to help with my bags. There was a free Nesspresso coffee in the lobby while waiting for the free air port shuttle. The Avalon is Very Hard To Find. It’s out in the middle of a field, so as we were returning a rental car, there is nowhere to walk to. We were stuck. The hotel is old and going rather seedy: fraying curtains, cracked leather furniture, scuffed woodwork. But for all that, the place is very clean and well cared for. Ok, they missed a spot or two. We only go to Thessaloniki once a summer from Halkidiki to catch an early flight. So the Avalon meets our needs. The only thing that would stop me from going back is the mosquitoes in the room, Oh my goodness, I haven’t had that many mosquito bites since I was a small child. The management provided mosquito oil plug-ins in the room, but it was not effective enough. The satellite tv was good and the shower was hot and strong. Only 2 towels and a big pump bottle of shower gel and hand soap provided. The WiFi is next to useless. Very slow and unsecured.

Hotel would not pick up the phone in order to arrange the pick up from the airport. Once we finally got a hold of them the shuttle took 30 mins to arrive. First thing I noticed when entering the room was a roach in the bathroom and also mosquitos in the room. The included breakfast was very good.
