"Forced to Sleep in Car One Night, Also They Don't Clean Rooms Well, No Locks on Windows"

2.0

One night I had to sleep in the backseat of my car because they do not actually man their "emergency phone." Another guy got locked out of his room with his stuff at 6am as he was trying to leave, because his key simply stopped working. The motel did not help him until 8am. The only reason I got back into my room was because I discovered I could open any window as there are no locks on them at all, meaning anyone could steal my stuff. Backing up, I came in late at night as it was a 3+ hour drive to get here from Vegas airport. Their staff did not man the desk past 9pm (although one person seems to inhabit the room adjoining the office), so they left my keys in a mail slot for me to pick up. The dingy two-star motel room still had peanuts scattered on the floor by the edge of the bed that no one had bothered to clean up before my arrival (pic 1). The mattress cover under the sheets had minor orange stains on them. But the unclean room was not really the cause of my nightmare. On night 2, I messed up and locked myself out of my room. I usually stick the key right into my wallet when I get it. After the drive late at night from Vegas I had not done that. When I went up to the office door (which at that point was closed) there was a sign with a number listed that said to call if an issue came up, for someone would answer before midnight. I tried calling from there, but fun fact! No cell service anywhere near this motel. I got in my car and drove up the hill to the other side of town. I called before midnight. But they did not answer. I left a voicemail, then waited a few minutes and tried again. No answer (pic 2). Midnight passed. I tried calling again, and the person on the other end of the line actually started MANUALLY SENDING MY CALLS TO VOICEMAIL. Keep in mind that there is an employee staying in the room behind the office that could have easily helped out. As I drove back the inviting lights in other motels’ OPEN offices mocked me. I went back to their office and knocked. A light turned on inside the office, then turned off again. I settled into the backseat of my car and tried to sleep. It was hot out. I awoke at daylight to a pain in my back and no feeling in my arm. My phone had died and I didn't know the time. Hoping the office would be open, I ventured out. Another dude trying to leave had just gotten locked out of his room with his stuff still inside. Not even because he had left his keys in the room like me, but because his key actually STOPPED WORKING. I pointed out the emergency number to him but they did not answer him either. It was only 6am, and the office would not be open for 2 hours. Initially I sat myself down against the office door determined to wait out the 2 hours in case they opened early. But then I decided that I should check the window of my room. Groggily, I noticed that it was meant to slide to the side rather than swing out. It took a bit of effort, as if the window hadn’t been moved in a while, but it did eventually slide open. I entered, then went to close and lock the window. But then I noticed that the windows of my room HAD NO LOCKS ON THEM. At any point anyone could enter. I was disturbed by this revelation, and resolved to load all of my stuff back into my car every time I went out. I crashed into bed and fell back asleep, my entire rhythm and schedule for my second day vacationing out here completely ruined. When I checked out, the person working the counter was sitting on their couch in the room adjoining the office. As they came in, I raised my issue with them not manning the emergency phone and not having locks on the windows. They responded in a deadpan and apathetic tone, avoiding eye contact and not saying much other than blaming “the manager” for not picking up the calls. They didn’t care at all that I had paid for 3 nights in a room but spent one outside sleeping in a hot car. Literally all the other motels in the area have an actual office with actual employees that are there to help if something goes sideways at 11pm. It is literally not worth it.

"Do not stay here! Rude staff and Gross, dirty."

2.0

Go anywhere else! We stay here every year, and I have no idea what happened to this place. Got there at 1 and tried to check in. This older lady watching tv came out and acted like we were disturbing her and told us to come back at 3. Getting back at 3 a different lady was completely passed out on the couch with her mouth wide open. We tried to wake her up for 5 minutes opening and closing the front door we had to yell! She was out of it checking us in. Getting to the room the walkway was nasty dirty like cat litter was dumped. the room had 2 lights that worked. The floor had mopped shoe marks on it. the bed skirt was stained from swabbing the deck! Gross! The shower was nasty and the sink was gross. The sheets didn't even fit the bed. I will pay extra next time at a different hotel. Pictures to come.

"Avoid like the plague!"

2.0

I've worked and stayed at a lot of hotels in my life and I have never had such a bad experience with both the staff and facilities. To start with, there was no hot water in the room we were staying. We were then moved to another room that was not pet friendly and basically told by the head front desk person Heather that it was partially our fault for moving to that room when all we wanted was hot water. Moved back to the original room the next day to find that the hot water heater stilll hadn't been fixed even though they claimed it had. When in the process of moving to yet another room I voiced my opinion about the experience up to that point, Heather then very rudely and unproffesionally told me,"I could get the F out if I didn't like it!", which we did right then and there, ending our stay two nights early. The next day we woke to both our cards being drained $1,000, when we only stayed one night due to the horrible occomadations and beyond rude staff. Very unproffesional, malicious, and fraudulent behavior that will not be tolerated. Avoid this place like the plague!

"Don’t go there. There are plenty of reasonable options in Tonopah"

1.0

Nothing. Absolutely nothing good to say about it.

1. There isn’t a person present 24/7 2. I went out of the room at 6am and the room’s card key didn’t work so I had to wait more than 2 hours for someone to come and open the room. The other guy that stayed in the hotel told me that it happened to him at 11:00 so he had to spend the night at another hotel! 3. The facility is bad. The coffee machine in the room is unusable and the whole facility was not attended since the 70’s. I’m not sure that the light switches are even compliant today. They are ancient. 4. There is NO breakfast. Nothing. It says that there is breakfast but there isn’t any. Avoid this place.

"Crappy Motel Review"

2.0

The room was old and ran down. Carpet burn and bubbling vinyl flooring were gross. We paid way too much for the room being that poorly maintained. The bottom or the white shower curtain was brown, there was no warning the water would be off Saturday morning and the furniture was doll house size. The beds were comfortable and that was the saver or we would have checked out and moved yo a better motel. The online booking price was more and we were not given the walk in price which should of happened considering the condition of the room. I will never stay at that motel again.
