Breakfast was great, location was stunning, staff were all great, look forward to another stay there.

Catering a disgrace. Our dinner was very pior and even though they did not charge for one main course still was £60. Cooking was amateurish, meat tough etc. It ruined what should have been a nice break.

The food was ok, but could be better for the price. Have stayed in other hotels with similar rooms and facilities at cheaper cost.

Beautiful hotel in gorgeous setting with first class staff. Ate in the orangery restaurant on the evening (as Ramblers had closed early for some reason) and the food and serving staff were excellent. Partners birthday, so received a small complimentary upgrade from superior fell view room to superior lake view room and the birthday card was a nice touch. I had arranged and paid for champagne which was awaiting us on arrival. Thank you I cannot compliment the staff highly enough - they really are the heartbeat of the hotel, nothing is a problem to them and they all approach visitors with a great sense of humour. They made the stay.

Room was a little dated and shower had little to no power. Bathroom - some areas were still unclean which was disappointing Bed - a huge and comfortable bed, but sadly 2 of the pillows were dirty and appeared ‘used’. The nespresso machine needs smaller cups as you couldn’t fit them on the plate to pour a coffee.

Breakfast was disappointing. The full cooked breakfast was underwhelming, eggs Benedict swamped in hollandaise sauce & scrambled egg was grainy & watery.
