Club Continental

A heritage property that has been upgraded to more modern standards. The room ( river suite 203) was large with a mixture of antique and modern furniture. The bed was large with great linens. The kitchenette included a microwave and coffemaker. The bathroom had a very large tub and separate shower. Lovely balconey with a great view of the river and bridge. There is no need in this antiplastic age to use plastic cups. There is a continental breakfast served complimentary . You need to ask for tea and on the second day, omelet was offered but not on the first day. There was no dining on either Sunday or Monday night. If you are traveling south, the location is good for getting on I95 south but the location is a good 40 minutes from the airport, 30 from downtown and 60 plus from Amelia Island.

Beautiful scenery right on the St. John’s River ! Comfortable bed and spacious suite. Delicious breakfast served each morning overlooking the river. Quite delightful !

I enjoyed stay very nice and comfortable, only one negative and that was the shower head needed to be decalcified.

Beautiful grounds, large room directly overlooks the water. Unique property. Terry was very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Very quiet, even with the club next door.

It location

This property has an air of bygone elegance that just makes me feel like I'm in a Gatsby film. The staff is so over the top pleasant and helpful, I wish they were family! The included breakfast is excellent; the dinner is superb and competitively priced. The only criticism I have is for the television system; I guess the rich don't watch as much tv as I do!

I have to tell you this is one of the very few properties we have stayed it and say "I could live here". It is an amazing place to stay. We loved the setting and the River Suites were outstanding. Will be back for sure.

Loved my stay at Club Continental from the cosy room with dramatic river view, to the delicious breakfast and excellent dinners. Staff made me feel right at home. I can't wait to return.
