Marina Palace Hotel & Congress Hall

wir haben unsern Feedback über unseren Aufenthalt per Fax an die Direktion Marina Palace geschickt am 26.09.2014 bis dato haben wir von Ihnen keinen dank erhalten.

I want to thank specially one administrator girl who's name I forgot sadly, very helpful staff, nothing much bad to say about this hotel only suggesting to those who will choose here to stay - rent a car, cause to reach ~Catania not a big drama but problem to go to Taormina side, no bus.

Ambiente degradato e personale poco professionale.

Nie polecam tego hotelu. Jego stan jest opłakany. Odstrasza już elewacja zewnętrzna, a w środku tylko gorzej. Obsługa nie jest kompetentna,żeby udzielić jakiejkolwiek pomocy. Jedynie kelnerzy w restauracji wydawali się być życzliwi. Odradzam pobyt w tym miejscu, zwłaszcza,ze w okolicy jest kilka ciekawszych obiektów w podobnej cenie.

The choice of hotel was made by the tour operator who warned us that the 4 star rating was a bit inflated. After reading other reviews, I was prepared for the worst. The actual experience was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious if a little bare bones in furnishing. The balcony was large with a view of the sea if we stood on our toes. We did have to ask for front desk override on air conditioning settings to bring the actual cooling to our North American standards. The staff was generally pleasant and attempted to be helpful, but lack of English did pose some problems, particularly in the spa. Restaurant staff was pleasant and attentive. The breakfast buffet was tasty, with a reasonable amount of choice. The staff did go out of their way at dinner to ensure that the vegetarians in our group did not go hungry but options were limited. Downsides: Internet access, which was supposed to be available in the common areas, was slow when we could connect at all. This proved to be a major source of frustration with many in our group. Soundproofing - or complete lack of it - was a major headache. I knew who was walking by the room at any hour of the day. I could hear conversations in the next room from the bathroom. On several nights, there was a band playing in the lounge downstairs. I did not need to actually go downstairs to hear every note. On one night, a particularly bad Elvis impersonator sang. I found myself wishing for the ceiling to cave in to end the torture. The beds were a bit on the firm side, but I've experienced much worse in pricier hotels. The pillows were hard as a rock. There is no pool on sight, but you can get passes to the beach & pool area across the street. To get into town for a cafe or grocery store meant a 5-10 minute walk. Narrow sidewalks are a concern when traffic is heavy as you end up walking in the street to get around parked cars but this seemed to be the case wherever we went in Sicily. The hotel would not be my first choice if returning to the area, but, for the price, was an ok place to use as home base for a week of exploring the east side of Sicily.

info .... über Veranstaltungen ...Ausflüge ...Strände ..Lido. .. usw ..vom Hotel wenig ...auf dem Zimmer auch nichts ....als internationales Hotel nur italienisch und etwas englisch ....kein deutsch ... nicht mal paar Wörter ..Frühstücks Angebot kein 4:Sterne ....wenig Auswahl ....konnte man vergessen ...sind nach dem 2 tag nicht mehr hin ...Mehr erwartet .... gut aber geschlafen ...war ruhig ...Klimaanlage .... sauber ...freundliches Personal . ... leider nur Steine vor der Tür. ...kein Sandstrand . 3 Sterne nicht mehr .....

Das Hotel liegt getrennt durch eine Einbahnstrasse direkt am Meer. Die Aussicht ist Fantastisch. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick haben eine riesen grosse Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheit und Liegestühle. Die Poolanlage ist einfach aber zweckmässig gestaltet. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Im dazugehörenden Restaurant haben wir sehr gut und für unsere Verhältnisse Preisgünstig gegessen. Wir empfehlen das Hotel mit gutem Gewissen weiter.

We had a wonderful week, the only thing that the hotel lacked was something for the children to do, such as a pool table or games room.

Ottimo hotel vicino ai principali lidi di Acitrezza, la struttura è relativamente moderna e abbastanza ben tenuta, le camere sono grandi e ospitali con arredamento moderno e sobrio la cui pulizia è a dir poco impeccabile. Buono il servizio colazione con un discreto assortimento. Unica piccola pecca, alcune camere non sono dotate di balconi privati ma di aperture direttamente sulla corte interna, ma ciò non influisce sul livello di comfort e silenziosità dell'hotel. Da consigliare sia per brevi soggiorni che per soggiorni medio-lunghi.
