Grand Hotel Astoria

My wife and I stayed for a week at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The single most important thing about this hotel is the helpful and friendly staff who were all wonderful people. Can not fault any staff member. The front desk, bar and restaurant staff were consistently delightful and they all contributed to making our stay at this hotel so enjoyable. The staff worked extremely hard and we are very grateful to them. The room overlooking the lake was superb.The bar staff mixed some of the finest negronis and cocktails I have tasted. The food was consistently of a high standard as was the service.Special mention must be made of the resident Chef de Cuisine who I spoke to personally and thanked. A lovely man ! This was our first visit to this part of the delightful Italian Alps and we left with many happy memories of the Grand Hotel Astoria and the region in general. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope prospective guests enjoy themselves as much as we did. Thank you.

We have just returned from a week's stay at this hotel. The hotel was great. The building itself is very imposing with a wonderful view from the rooms and from the terrace down over the lake. Our room was very spacious, with a large double bed (essentially two singles together) and a single bed in the corner, chairs, desk and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was large, with a good shower. Food at the hotel was mostly very good (with only one course of one meal that we found poor). Dinner consisted of an extensive anti-pasta range of cold and hot dishes, followed by choice from two pasta dishes and then choice of main courses, typically one meat and one fish-based (vegetarian options are also offered but we didn't try any of them so can't comment on them). There is a lovely bar and terrace at which to enjoy a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink, and we found the bar and restaurant prices very reasonable. The hotel has impressive facilities, with plenty of indoor and outdoor lounge areas (all overlooking the lake), a decent sized swimming pool, a squash court (with equipment provided), a gym, a spa, two table-tennis tables and indoor archery (for a small fee). The hotel staff were great, all very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for walking, with numerous marked routes of varying lengths (and degrees of challenge!). It's worth exploring some of these as only then do you get the full impression of how the local area sits on a plateau with steep drops down to the valleys below. The area was the front-line between Italy and Austria in the First World War and there are numerous military forts in the area, with Fort Belvedere being the best preserved and only a pleasant two-mile walk form the hotel. The Trentino Guest Card provided to hotel guests gives free transport on local buses and free entry to the Fort Belevedere, among other benefits, and you are also given a voucher for free use of the ski chairlifts (although there are only a small number in operation in the summer months). In summary, a lovely place to stay in a charming area.

L'hotel è in generale adeguato alle aspettative, ma ci sono alcune cose non ottimali da segnalare: - la piscina era affollatissima di bambini urlanti e quindi impraticabile da adulti senza prole a seguito. Problema facilmente risolvibile inserendo degli orari differenziati; - non c'era presenza di personale nella SPA, con molti utenti che non rispettavano le minime condizioni igieniche previste dal regolamento dell'hotel (es. uso del telo in sauna) - trovo assurdo dover pagare in un hotel a 4 stelle il telo x la SPA e ancora più assurdo dover pagare il caffè espresso a colazione (...non essendo questo incluso nella colazione).

OTTIMO HOTEL CON UNA POSIZIONE FAVOLOSA AFFACCIATA SUL LAGO LAVARONE. STANZA CONFORTEVOLE E PULITA. OTTIMA COLAZIONE A BUFFET

Hotel pulito, colazione abbondante, posizione buona. Purtroppo troppo caro per i servizi che offre. arredamento datato e poco funzionante. Personale poco disponibile.

Una bella serata in un ambiente con l'atmosfera giusta

Il mio compagno ed io abbiamo soggiornato per soli due giorno. Siamo stati bene, stanza vista lago confortevole e pulita. Alla reception un accoglienza e cortesia straordinaria. Abbiamo cenato , tutto buono e abbondante con una spesa davvero ridicola, anche il personale del ristorante simpatico. L ' unica pecca era la zona benessere. Odore di chiuso molto fastidioso ,poco accogliente .

Posizione ottimale per l'accesso ai servizi sul Lago e ai sentieri per bellissime escursioni e visite ai forti di guerra e ai musei. Albergo buono e personale cortese. Cucina discreta ma migliorabile.

Soggiorno di coppia di 2 gg. Per iniziare ho prenotato una camera matrimoniale e al nostro arrivo alla reception ci danno una camera con 2 letti separati. L'addetta ci dice che l'albergo ha poche camere doppie!!!! Cmq riusciamo ad ottenere la camera matrimoniale. La camera era fredda!!ci e' voluto 1 giorno e mezzo per scaldarla!! Un angolo era pieno di muffa fino al soffitto. Frigo bar vuoto! In bagno c'erano 2 bicchieri di plastica e la dotazione per la doccia era in bustine. Ricordo che è un 4 stelle! Al cenonedi capodanno abbiamo pagato anche il bicchiere di prosecco per fare il brindisi! A colazione si pagava il cappuccino! L'hotel ha una bella piscina interna...con acqua fredda!! Inoltre non hanno gli accappatoi per tutti gli ospiti!! Giudizio globale assolutamente scadente e inviterei a verificare di persona. Visto quanto fanno pagare è incredibile un servizio cosi' scarso e deludente.
