Robin and all the staff I encountered were wonderful. The property’s downtown location is very convenient, yet quiet. The sitting room, kitchen, porch, and yard were lovely, welcoming, and inviting. However, overall my stay was disappointing. I stayed in a so-called street-level room which still entailed steep stairs; had window a/c unit instead of central air and was quite damp until a dehumidifier was brought in. (Thank you, Robin, for the cheerful, can-do attitude you displayed throughout my stay!) Unfortunately, a/c unit and dehumidifier were running constantly, making sleep difficult. Upper level rooms seemed to be centrally air conditioned, resulting in lower level rooms providing poor value for money by comparison. Also, I was charged a “resort fee” without an adequate explanation, or amenities and services which would justify such a fee, unless it was intended to cover hors d’oeuvres, dessert or breakfast, which, based on reviews and the property’s marketing material, I expected to be slightly more lavish. Breakfast was good, but limited as to choices without an up-charge. Wait staff were excellent and having breakfast on the porch was a treat. Had my room not been so disappointing, this would have been a most enjoyable stay.

We were moved to a budget room after checking in to a convenient location. Kinda felt second class. Staff was agreeable, and we are very grateful we were able to charge our electric vehicle on property.

Excellent breakfast options.

If I may make a suggestion, a real salsa would be nice at breakfast instead of ghost pepper sauce. Ghost pepper is too hot.

Location

Cute and quaint house with lots of cute sitting areas. The Innkeeper was so welcoming and informative about the property and surrounding area. The food was delicious.

No power outlet in the bathroom. Room was a little damp.

Delicious breakfast of very higher quality. Generous afternoon and evening tea-time/dessert offerings. Helpful friendly staff who appear to really enjoy their jobs there. Very clean and neat.

Location and history

Someone tried to enter our room after all the service workers were gone. We blockaded the door with furniture in the room because it was late at night and we were afraid to come out of the room until the service workers arrived early in the morning. We didn’t not sleep that night out of fear. We brought it to management attention. There was no retribution for how unpleasant and unsafe we felt. It was a wasted night with no refund. Management did apologize while we explained everything over breakfast. It was totally a waste of money and worst than that it was a terrifying experience with no reimbursement for the agony.
