Place need a makeover

The Rocomar Hotel is in a great location from the ferry from Cancun. It's a short walk up a hill. Pool overlooks the sea. We had a balcony outside of our room. Very friendly atmosphere and our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Clean.safe.reasonable.

This was our first time and enjoyed every minute of our stay! Will definitely come back!

The location is excellent, the cleaning maid was excellent. The room was ok, the TV was small and behind Plexi glass, I know typically I wouldn't care but it was the weekend of the AFC and NFC championship. All the mirrors had these marks on them, basically useless.. The gentleman at the front desk never greeted us as we come and go, and never smiled.

We enjoyed the view. Nothing else. Room and property was dirty. Front desk staff gave no information on the property. Here is the key. Room 10. That is it. Dod not feel welcome. Never saw any hotel staff. Pool furniture broken. Mold in room everywhere including the air conditioner. Door to balcony very hard to open. Lights did not work. Will never recommend.

The location is gorgeous, but the room was not well maintained. In our 14 days stay we had three repairmen come in: air conditioner leaking water into our closet; balcony door not sliding and toilet. The first two were solve, the toilet did not fill up even after a couple hours work. We had to manually fill the tank with a pitcher. I understand is only a two star hotel, but a properly working toilet is a must. Additionally we were asked to wear a bracelet so the night watchman would know we were staying there. On the last morning there was a young man sleeping in the outdoor lounge, no shirt, no shoes, no bracelet. So much for security. The staff was polite but defensive when we brought up our complaints. Again, beautiful location by the Caribbean sea, balconies overlooking the sea, pool area overlooking the sea, but poorly maintained rooms.

The hotel is in good location close to Ferry and shopping. I had a little issue with my room was downstairs, I had to go down a long staircase, I thought it would be 1st floor level since I’m handicapped. The other issue was if you leave the door open for a couple of minutes room gets very muggy and floor become extremely wet, this caused me to fall. Aside from those issue it was a pleasant one night stay.

Nice view and good location. Comfortable bed, but room smelled like smoke and a little shabby.
