Carlisle House Bed and Breakfast

The Carlisle House is conveniently located within a very short walk to a vast inventory of shops, pubs and restaurants. Carolyn is an excellent host and her breakfast offering is first rate. The facility is very clean with lots of charm.

Carlisle House is absolutely beautiful. The owners take great pride in running and maintaining their bed & breakfast. The amenities were spot on. All the comforts of home. I was extremely impressed. My husband and I travel a lot and I often stop and pick up little extras like makeup remover, lotion, etc. before checking in. I did not do that this time and was very surprised to find our room supplied with these things, and many other "touches" that made the stay more of an experience than a place to sleep. We only stayed for 2 nights but I really would have like to have stayed longer. Breakfast was delicious!!! The owners, along with a small team, do all the cooking. They post their recipes on their website and I cannot wait to try to replicate a quiche we had one morning. I would recommend staying at Carlisle House if you have the opportunity. The history in Carlisle is so interesting and the town is adorable - very "walkable". This was a great find. We stayed in the Bailey suite. Great for a family of 4 or 5. One note, this is an old house, built in 1863 (I believe) and the walls are thin. We had our 2-year-old grandson visiting one evening after walking around town and he is very hyper. I did feel nervous that we would disturb the neighbors as sound seems to echo and carry in old homes. We never did hear any complaints about the noise, but if you do have children, you may want to consider this if you decide to book the Baily suite, which is on the top floor.

Great location. Great hosts. Unique property

We really enjoyed our getaway at Carlisle House. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable and breakfast was amazing.

This is an old house (1826 I believe) that has tons of character. The owners are very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Location was perfect for walking around the town as it is about three blocks to the main square. The breakfast was homemade and quite good, however, expedia lists this as included (their error). I spoke with the innkeeper, Carolyn, and she called them to complain about the listing. I was satisfied with the resolution. One of the other great features of Carlisle House is that the parking lot (behind the inn) is free for those stay and you can park there upon arrival even if prior to check-in. Recommend highly if you have occasion to visit Carlisle.

Very pleasant and convenient

The hospitality here is absolutely wonderful! It’s a gorgeous home, with a fantastic history, located right in the heart of Carlisle’s historic district. Your hostess, Carolyn, is wonderfully accommodating and warm, and oh my, what food! So, so decadent and delicious. We will definitely return to Carlisle House!

Carolyn and Tim were very welcoming hosts. Our two rooms were both beautiful, unique, and everything you would want from a B&B. Very clean, nice bathrooms, great beds. Tim got creative at breakfast and made us a delicious lactose free eggs benedict which was much appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

The owners, Tim & Carolyn, do a wonderful job in meeting the needs of their visitors. The rooms are very clean and well attended. The breakfasts are excellent! The inn is historic and in a great location in town. We are repeat customers, and we plan to return again based on the consistency of the experience. We highly recommend it. ~Tom & Patty
