Horizon Village & Resort Chiangmai

Sehr schönes Resort in einem botanischen Garten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten zwei Zimmer nebeneinander gebucht. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, nur leider hatte es etwas gerochen, was sehr wahrscheinlich durch die hohe Luftfeuchte kam. Aber der Botanische Garten ist sehr schön und riesig. Wir verbrachten einen ganzen Tag im Botanischen Graten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war grandios, es gab alles was man sich vorstellen kann und alles hatte sehr gut geschmeckt.

We have upgrade to Premium Suite, it's very lovely room peacful and quite. Private area and surrounded with tree and garden, decoration was traditional Thai style.

Breakfast very busy, not so much for International Buffet and pastries run out quick.

Breakfast was great. Beautiful property.

We took a “tour” and it was like a roller coaster. And then all of a sudden told us to get out.

I contact the property in advance to ask for an accessible room for wheelchair user. They said that unfortunately they didn’t have such, which was a bit surprising for such a resort like that. But anyway, I then asked to have a room with a bathtub so it would be easier for my friends to help me than a shower where I would need to seat on the ground.. they accept to “upgrade me” because having a bathtub is apparently an upgrade. They first wanted me to pay for it, which I explained wasn’t fair, because first I would need to pay extra for a room that isn’t even accessible and where my friend will need to carry me. Secondly, I shouldn’t have to pay “extra” in order to have the same facilities as other people which are being able to access safely the toilet, the shower and the room. If the wheelchair rooms are bigger it’s not for extra comfort or luxury but just because if not, the wheelchair doesn’t fit. When I arrived, I realize that the bathroom they gave wasn’t really appropriate, because I’d a bathtub but the toilet was in between bathtub and shower, I couldn’t even reach it. So basically, I couldn’t go to the toilet. I went to reception to explain and kindly ask if it would be possible to have another room where the toilets would have a different conception and where the toilet would be reachable with the wheelchair. The woman said they would show me two rooms that should be better. One of them I could only have it 2 days because “a group of people” rent it. The other room is free. In both case I would need to pay an upgrade. I accepted because at that point I don’t care to pay I just want to be able to go to the toilet. But guess my surprise when I see that the first room we visit was FULLY accessible. It was basically a wheelchair accessible room with everything needed : toilet grabs, shower seat and grabs, the bed was reachable, no steps.. When I first contact them they said they didn’t have such. Unfortunately this room was the one taken by a “group”.
