Chimes Spa Retreat

The grounds were beautiful to walk around. The staff were lovely. We loved how beautiful the scenery was. The main area of the property was very nice and well equipped.

We were horrified to get to our room and find out that there wasn’t a door on the toilet, leaving absolutely no privacy at all, this wasn’t mentioned anywhere and was a rude shock. I don’t understand how this isn’t mentioned to people, especially when the room is being booked to more than one person. The shower was in full view of the whole room, and also caused water to splash everywhere when showering. The room and balcony were also quite dirty. There was dust everywhere inside, food crumbs on the floor which weren’t from us and mould in the bathroom. The balcony was also covered in debris and hadn’t looked like it has been cleaned in a while; it would have been nice to have someone sweep the area before guests check in so the balcony could be used. There also wasn’t any sound proofing so you could hear everything from the rooms around you. For the price and the reputation, we were very disappointed.

Ein sehr geschmackvolles, modernes Anwesen mit stilvollen neuen Zimmern auf einem sehr gepflegten Grundstück mit Meer- bzw. Inlet-Blick. Bei entsprechender Buchung auch entsprechender Blick aus den Zimmern. Schöner Aufenthalts- und Speisebereich, den man am Abend auch individuell benutzen darf, inkl. Grill auf der Terrasse. Man fühlt sich mehr als Gast in einem Landhaus denn als Hotelbewohner. Das Frühstück überrascht positiv: als nur Continental angekündigt, ist es doch recht vielseitig.

Etwas weit vom Ort entfernt; man braucht für alles ein Auto, aber das ist der Preis der herrlichen Lage in den Hügeln über Denmark.

Our room was amazing

Two things I didn’t like. Firstly when the booking includes breakfast and then they charge you for hot breakfast. That was a bit deceptive. Breakfast inclusion was for continental breakfast only. Secondly, on our second morning, we weren’t even asked if we wanted a hot breakfast. We were completely ignored. Therefore the customer service for such a beautiful place was well under par.

Absolutely delightful. The retreat has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, luxurious and relaxing. From the delicious included continental breakfasts, to all the little amenities in the room, to a complimentary evening port in front of the fire in the shared sitting room - fabulous! Will be back!
