LOTTE CITY HOTEL Mapo

Everything from the wonderful staff to the room and location was absolutely perfect. It’s our second visit, and we will definitely choose only this hotel for all our future trips!

Love the 24-hour laundromat, bevy of restaurants and shops at the basement (the supermarket is currently under renovation until June 2026), and its proximity to Gongdeok Station Exit 2. It’s great that the room’s air-con temperature can be adjusted by the guest. Lots of food options within walking distance!

The automatic interval from when the air-con switches off after reaching its desired room temperature, to turning back on, is a little too long. There’s no ventilation in the room whenever this happens. The lack of an escalator down at Gongdeok Station Exit 2 is a minor hassle (there’s an escalator up). But that’s on Seoul Metro and the city, not the property. Lastly, this is about Seoul in general — prices a night for a hotel of this class were generally around SGD150 a few years back, but they are trending at SGD200 a night nowadays. That’s a personal psychological barrier.

Location is excellent - Very easy to get to/from the airport (either through Airport Limousine shuttles or the AREX). Also centrally located where you can easily catch the subway to places of interest.

1. The staff do not speak English very well, it was hard to communicate when we had some issues with the room (elaborated below) 2. When we checked in, we experienced trouble with the air conditioning. After some back and forth, they switched our room to another room. 3. The hotel itself is clearly quite dated old and the interior has seen better days. The curtains had questionable masking tape all over them, corner of the walls were scuffed. Making for a rather unsightly experience despite the premium cost this hotel charges.

Very convenient for public transport, metro station under the hotel.

First is a 3* not 4 as published in Booking, during weekdays waiting long time for elevator, no access to the pool, not very friendly staff.

The bed was comfortable during our stay and the hotel was clean. It was easy to check in and had a mini 7-eleven in the lobby that was very convenient. Very close to the subway, so it was easy to get wherever.

The water pressure in the bathroom for the overhead shower vs the hand held shower piece was so awful. It was actually some of the worst water pressure I've ever experienced. Bathroom sink had a weird smell that my husband noted.

Very comfortable and on top of a subway station. Also plenty of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance.

One night we had a very strong food smell coming into the room. Fortunately that only happened once.
