Vista Mar Beach Resort and Country Club

Looking for something any major city hotel may not possibly offer, be it for a full lone relaxation or to bond with your close friend/s while free from the urban noises & smells, but still comes with the must-have clean room, adequate amenities & quality service..well, this is IT! I'd visited Cebu just about a dozen times before, including 3 previous hotels of stay also in Lapu Lapu where its airport is located, this time being my very first to spend the entire stay in a hotel by the sea in that region. i was immediately engulfed in its natural as well as man-made beauties after check-in! Lacking of WiFi in the room but only around the lobby and resto-cafe areas did not in any way affect my overall relaxing holiday stay. In fact, i could not recall on top of my head where else i had seen or experienced 3 swimming pools (well, one of them was closed for renovation), let alone to enjoy the great ocean view simultaneously, at such affordable pricing!. To get back to the city life of shopping malls, gourmet venues or evening drinks..just tell the front desk to call for a taxi which always comes over in only 5 to 15 minutes. There's a mere 50 P, or slightly more than a dollar, on top of what the meter reading turns out to show.Given another chance i'd love to go back there again for a full holiday relaxation!

I booked this to relax after a long flight straight to Cebu and wanted to be straight on the beach. The hotel is quite grand and must hae been the best 15 yrs ago a little dated now. The room was comfortable but no wifi ( lobby only) thd staff attentive and friendly. It's a bit out of the way. Has a sm beachfront w nice sand and some snorkelling and really nice pools (2) they let me check in really early 8.30 am! because it was not full, which was a big plus for me. resto was only ok

There were several aspects of the stay that were fine (two pools, nice view of the water, quiet). The room was what I expected for the price and was perfectly acceptable but not glamorous. Wifi was only available in the lobby. The negatives were centered around the service. The restaurant on site was average at best but they also ran out of beer, mango juice and hamburger during our stay. They were unable to make alterations to anything on the menu. The front desk was unhelpful with arranging off site activities. The hotel itself is very isolated from anything else and requires a taxi or jeepney to get to the main road. Live and learn, I hope to return to Cebu but I won't be staying at Vista Mar.

I had a horrible stay here, and would not recommend multi-day stays, particularly for those coming with family. For those not aware, they have a "no outside food" policy that is NOT stated on hotels.com or any of the agreements before you book (Shame on you for not requiring something this blatant to be specified, hotels.com). They confiscated our food which made is quite mad, we left 2 days earlier out of our 4 day stay. The pools are good but no lifeguard on duty (We had a close call drowning experience with our child. Short story: If you're travelling with kids that don't swim, I don't recommend coming here. Long story: hotels.com limits how much I can type, see more details on my tripadvisor review). Other details: No elevator - difficult to navigate toddlers and strollers up and down 3 (or 4?) flights of stairs just to get to room from lobby, especially when they're napping. No in-room wifi, wifi in lobby sucks. Far away from commercial areas, definitely not walkable. "free breakfast" only from 6-8AM (Probably to discourage you from actually using it), the beaches really sucked. Overall, this was the worst part of our trip to the Philippines. Beautiful location - beautiful hotel, clean rooms however, garden areas could use more cleaning and sprucing up so it is attractive to guests. Staff very nice, coourteous and accomodating. Front desk should be well lighted and front desk staff's work area should not be on the corner. The way it is right now, it gives the impression that the front desk is not manned because it's dark and you don't see anyone right away. This hotel has a lot of potential if outside garden areas are well cared for and "manicured". I would consider staying here again next time I am in the area.

Location was great and this hotel is a good value for the money

今回1歳、4歳の子をつれて宿泊しましたが、子どもはプールが気に入り快適に過ごせました。 ただ、海は藻がたくさんあって入れなかったのは残念でした。

Hotel was quite old, front desk staff were not aware that our room was booked for 2adults &2 children that they are charging me for extra persons.

Not good at all! Toilet flooded after checking in.... Need I say more?

The hotel is far from many shopping areas, restaurants, etc. The restaurant located in the hotel is only ok, much better options available in town. The free breakfast is good - fruit, omelets and other basic breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, however, taxis are required often. No spa amenities and very small beach area.
