The Evergreen Hotel

The staff was exceptionally nice. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.

Nice Hotel for a stay in McCall

-Very friendly front desk attendants (and staff overall) -Soft, thick shower towels -Large shower with a nice shower head -Very clean, although my toe stepped on a plastic hair comb underneath one of the nightstands. Not sure if the floor gets vacuumed well -Nice lighting on and behind the bed's headboard - great for reading -Large, wall-mounted coat/gear rack -Ample shelving space for gear, luggage, etc. to keep it off the floor -Beautiful facilities (lobby, cafe, pool); luggage carts available

-When I made the reservation, I requested a first floor/ground level room. But when I checked in, the attendant said they did not see that message. They upgraded us to a suite on the third floor. We did not want this though, because we have a ton of gear that we were dragging all over each day, and because rooms that high up are often HOT. Despite turning the thermostat to 62 each night, we roasted because heat rises. We even opened the window, but that was not enough to keep the room cool at night. -Needs better lighting above/around the bathroom sink area -No paper or kitchen towels to dry dishes with; are we supposed to dry with a handful of Kleenex? We ended up using a bathroom hand towel -The bed was mediocre in terms of comfort; we prefer more cushioning -The cafe downstairs offers good coffee, but the banana bread was horribly burnt, the muffins were dried out, and our breakfast sandwich was way overcooked, and we had asked for no bacon on it, but it was loaded with bacon! -My biggest complaint, and the only reason why we will not come back, is because of how uncomfortable all of the room's furniture is. The sofa, dining table chairs and box seating in dinette area are so uncomfortable we could not sit on them. We ended up bringing in our folding camping chairs from the truck to sit on instead. This is why my overall rating/score is so low. It's too bad because this is a nice place, but who wants to be uncomfortable and get a sore back from the furniture?

When we checked in, we waited 32 minutes (that’s when we actuallly started timing it) for a front desk employee to show up and check us in. There were four other couples ahead of us, also.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pool and hot tub were lovely.
