Rock House Hotel

A most enjoyable 3 nights bed and breakfast. One problem, I had booked in for dinner on one evening but when i arrived at 7.15pm for dinner, i was informed due to a shortage of staff, i was unable to have dinner that evening....it was not a problem but someone could have informed me - communication needs to be sorted!!!! Having a car park on site was brilliant and much appreciated. I had George, my cockapoo, with me and the staff seemed to enjoy having him stay plus the other dogs in residence! Makes a lovely change being able to holiday with your pet.....thank you. Hope to visit again.

What a location and what a view. Staff on arrival and in the bar were excellent. Staff dealing with breakfast was a little rude. But overall highly recommended hotel in an amazing location. Room was clean & tidy.

Nice hotel, great position, easy to get round Lynmouth. Bedroom was a tad small, this was reflected in the price. Stayed there before, looking rather tured/dated, think it's due for a revamp. Great attention by the staff, very helpful. Good food, good, maybe a bit pricey, obviously a good chef. I'd certainly be coming back (but I'll be choosing a larger room).

Lovely room, though I found the pillows a little too soft. Excellent views. Full English Breakfast felt a little rationed (but given the financial situation I wasn’t surprised). Fresh fruit looked a little sad. I felt it might have been nice to have some fruit salad perhaps. However all these things are personal choices and given everything I would stay here again.

It was a brilliant stay luckily we were there for the annual raft race which was so much fun flour bags and all and the sea shanty singing was really good

Food overpriced for what was served , we ate out because of this . Reception area outdated needed lick of paint Carpets downstairs needed hoovering Lovely room , staff very friendly

2nd stay at the rock hotel, if you go do not request room 6, noisy plumbing, noisy bed, poor shower and the view isn’t a patch on the one from the other side of the hotel. However food was great, staff always helpful and the area is stunning. Place needs a serious decor update and the cost per night is on the cheeky side.

We turned up 16.15 to find no parking of which staff was parked there, reception was not inviting at all. The room was not ready that was after we went looking for someone. We were then told the room would be 10 minutes so after giving them another half hour we went back to be told they couldnt find the key, then when they did give us the key, we went to the room only to find someone else was in there of which we nearly walked in on them getting change. That was it we asked for a refund and left our honeymoon a day early. A massive disappointment.

In a nut shell, the area is surrounded by natural beauty, the accommodation was very good, as was the staff. We had a lower room with sea view, the only down fall being over looked. The room was tastefully decorated with a very good bathroom and shower. The only issue that some may have is that parking seems to be an issue. That said we were able to work arround this by parking on road side opposite, but only for two hour's. We would recommend this accommodation and would love to return.
