Hotel Milano

Excellent location next to the ferry port, with supermarket and restaurants of Maderno nearby (recommend La Tanna restaurant for good quality food). Short walk to the nearby beaches. Had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake which was lovely.

Weak wi-fi signal and no tea/coffee in room (which other hotels in Italy offer)

Wir hatten ursprünglich für 4 Nächte gebucht und haben dann noch etwas verlängert, weil uns dieses Hotel mit allen seinen Annehmlichkeiten so gut gefallen hat.

l'hotel si presenta molto bene dall'esterno e gli spazi comuni sono belli. Bella la piscina e ottima la colazione. La stanza sarebbe da rimodernare (soprattutto il bagno). Il parcheggio e' a pagamento (costa 5€) e direi che, visto il costo della camera, potevano anche fare a meno di farlo pagare. Nel complesso un buon hotel.

Our room was moldy with visible water damages on the ceiling in the bathroom and wall of the hallway, which gave the room an abundant and heavy musty and damp smell. The water damage also meant that the electricity did not work when the plugs tripped. We informed the hotel on at least three occasions. They came up and started the electricity via the plug cabinet each time, but it went off again after a while. They dismissed our views with "they had a storm that caused water to come in". Thus, we had problems with bad smells, no light in the room at night or in the bathroom during any part of the day, while batteries in phones and electronics could not be charged either at night or during the day. The balconies in the new part of the hotel are joined together. Due to smoking neighbors we were unfortunately unable to have our balcony door open and ventilate once we were in the room. In addition, of course, the AC turned off completely if the balcony door was opened. Wifi did not work in the room and there was basically no mobile coverage. We paid for a four star hotel and expected it to be reasonably fresh. It is also very nicely located by the small harbor. Unfortunately, what is offered according to our experience of the hotel, however, is a room not fit for purpose at full price and fairly nonchalant service. You will probably have completely different experiences of the hotel depending on which room you end up in. The hotel could not offer any alternative or a price reduction (i.e you pay the same price for a moldy room as for any other room).
