Hampton Inn Fairmont

This was a nice property, but much too expensive for the condition of the hotel. We were on the road and always stay at Hilton properties. We had to depart from our original destination a day early so we didn't have a lot of choices. Hotel was clean, staff very friendly. I have never paid this much for a Hampton, but didn't have much to choose from and the reservation was last minute. Hotel was quiet which we appreciate. Price was my only negative feedback.

Location - got Green Mill for dinner. Pool was clean as were the rooms

We were greeted by Travis and thanked for being Diamond honors members. He gave us a couple bottles of water and told us he upgraded our room for free. Not real sure about that but either way it sounded nice. This room was clean and the bed was a nice not so hard king. Always a pleasure to stay at this Hampton on our way through Minnesota.

Small Hampton right off of interstate 90. The hotel does not appear to be too old, everything seemed fairly fresh. Everything but the size was typical Hampton. The front desk manager was friendly and efficient and provided good information on local dining. The room was clean and in good repair. Refrigerator and Microwave in the room. The room was small. Queen bed and not a lot of room. Sink and mirror was outside the small bathroom. Breakfast was typical Hampton, which in the Post-Pandemic era seems to be less than it used to be. The Hampton breakfast used to be an edge they had on the competition, but recent experience indicates a cut back by the chain. The hotel is very convenient to interstate 90. There is a Taco Bell right next door and other eating choices close by. Gas stations very close also. This is a good choice if you are passing by on 90 and I would stay again.

Rarely have I ever been treated this badly. After traveling on the road all day, my wife had a migraine and we stopped for the night. I was told the room was a "Double", which at ever other Hampton Inn I have ever been to means two beds, usually a standard. We got to the room, which was the size of a closet, and there was ONE double bed. I called the desk and said we've got the wrong room, and I was told, no, this was IT. there was no room for both of us to sleep (I am 6'6") so I slept in the chair all night. For $200!!! I, once again, voiced my displease at the desk in the morning, and just got a shoulder shrug and "sorry"... After we made it home, I wrote a long letter to management detailing what happened, and was not even given the respect of a response. I don't think they care - they got my money. I can overlook a lot, but disrespect is intolerable.
