Residence Inn Dayton North

I tend to stay at Marriott properties when I can for the consistency in quality. This property has a great location right off the interstate and is near many restaurants. The suite and kitchen were very nice. My complaint is with the front desk staff. Shortly after checking in I went to the front desk and advised them that I was unable to get anything on the TV other than the Marriott home screen. I was told to change channels or turn it off and back on, both of which I had tried. Trying to change channels did nothing, and the same screen showed when turning off and back on several times. Then I was told I would need to unplug the TV and then plug it back in. I am 5 feet tall and this TV was mounted on the wall above my head. I couldn't reach anything, nor did I feel comfortable trying to get behind a wall mounted TV. A lady with housekeeping overheard this exchange and offered to come to the room and fix the problem, which she did. The next issue was that the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel containers in the bathroom were all empty. Front desk staff advised me that room refresh was provided every other day, and those amenities would be filled that evening. Of course, that didn't happen. I had to talk to front staff two more times to finally get those amenities provided. They should have been provided before I even checked into the room and not have to wait for two days to have them provided, and then only after asking three times.

We had to be moved to another room as our ceiling in the bathroom began to leak and come down. There was a great deal mold, around the tub, that they tried to cover with caulk. Cant feel clean in a dirty shower.

We were charged a $ 250 deposit for a juice stain on the carpet that wasn’t larger than 2 inches. Nobody would have probably even noticed had we not pointed it out. The manager explained that she couldn’t rent the room out for an entire day, because they had to clean the stain with a carpet cleaner!? I suppose to some people a bad excuse is better than none at all. We’ve emailed corporate numerous times, but it appears that we are not significant or good enough to resolve the issue, because we never did receive a reply. This is very disappointing to say the least. We would have been happy to clean the stain ourselves, which we’ve stated a few times during checkout, or even paid a $ 25- $ 50 fee. However, in my humble opinion, a stain that was less than 2”, does not warrant a $ 250 deposit being withheld. Shame on you! We’ve cleaned the entire room, collected ALL trash in large trash bags that we picked up from the front desk, stacked them by the door, along with the dirty towels etc. Cleaned the kitchen, wiped down any and all surfaces that were dirty, made sure everything was clean, AND left a tip. (this was my daughters 8th birthday party with friends) The room was spacious, but the bathroom was not what I would consider to be clean. We had to wipe down the tub and toiled before we used it, as well as the kitchen counters and fridge. The tub kept clogging and drained very slowly. There were no extra towels available as they were currently doing laundry, or so we were told by a gentleman who was sitting in the lobby reading the newspapers, and later enjoyed a cigarette outside in the courtyard. Trash was running over in the outdoor trashcans, but at least the pool area seemed pretty clean, and the breakfast was not bad.

military family that has been traveling for 2 months for summer vacation and this hotel was the best hotel we have stayed in! We got in late in the evening the lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing and sweet! breakfast was great, room was cleaned immaculately, the pool was amazing every was perfect! I cant say enough good things

Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Close to TONS of stores and restaurants (walking distance). Very reasonable price for what you receive
