La Quinta by Wyndham Stillwater -University Area

The hotel was an average hotel. It was fine.

The pool was closed when that was the reason I chose this location because it had an indoor pool. When we went to bed that night, a cockroach crawled across my husband’s shoulder in our bed now I don’t wanna bring my bags in our house because I am afraid of bringing bugs home.

I would like to say that my previous hotel stays with La Quinta have been great - I was very pleased with everything. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and everything seemed to work just fine: refrigerator, microwave, iron, etc. But, this visit, at the Stillwater La Quinta left a lot to be desired. The TV's volume was barely a whisper and that was with the TV's volume turned all the way up. When the heater kicked on, you couldn't hear the TV at all. I did not file a complaint because I knew I would be leaving at 5am in the morning. However, when I woke up at 4am to take a shower, the level to stop the water from using the bath spigot and to activate the shower was stuck and wouldn't work. All I had was a trickle from the showerhead. If I had tested the shower the night before, I would have asked for another room. Unfortunately, with the overall experience, I would not stay with La Quinta next time and I would be very hesitant to recommend anyone stay there. I will be during a lot of traveling this year since my nephew plays baseball for Oklahoma State University and I plan to attend several games. Due to these circumstances, I will not consider staying at La Quinta again. This is sad because I loved La Quinta before this experience. The hotel staff could make sure the TV and the shower works in the room or put it out of service until the items are fixed. At the very least, please let the customer know what is wrong with the room and give the customer the option to continue with the room or move the customer to another room or another hotel if there are no other rooms available. I understand pets are welcome at the hotel but either the hotel staff or the guardians of the pets need to clean up after them. To tell the truth, this is the only time I have spotted pets at a pet friendly hotel - a lady with 2 dogs walked in while I was checking in. From now on, I will purposely seek out hotels where pets are not allowed. I do not want to have to watch where I step in the parking lot in order to avoid items left behind by dogs. I did not report the items that were problematic because I knew I had to leave early in the morning and would only be staying one night.
