Grand Hotel Fasano

You cannot fail to be wowed with the setting and the building, but the actual delivery of the total Experience I would say is questionable. The staff are highly attentive and highly trained in detail. The question is, does this really deliver a great Customer Experience and is it tailored to the Customer as you would expect in a Leading Hotel of the World and a Michelin Restaurant. Does the detail of the positioning of a fork or a napkin outweigh the importance of a meal that is tasty, satisfies and is delivered in a manner that enhances the Experience of the Setting. Every experience I had in this hotel was that the balance was wrong. There was a stiffness in the many junior staff who were clearly being trained and nervous to get things according to the book. In doing this, the service lacked fluidity and attention to the Customer. The menus were odd to say the least and lacked balance. The lunch, bar and room service menus are effectively the same and were not as good as a tourist lunch menu in any restaurant in Verona at half the price. They need to improve dramatically in my view. I sincerely think that the management need to have some honest conversations in order to provide a much better overall Experience, not simply an experience based upon the Building, the Grounds and the Setting. At no point in any service was I asked if things were okay - why not ? Was there any Hotel survey ? I saw no Management curiosity as to what we thought of our days.

The outside space was nice.

The bed was hard and not at all confortable.I was unable to sleep, that cannot happen in a 5 stars hotel. As well, there was nothing but water in the fridge and room to eat. No chips, peanuts, coca cola, nothing. The reception’s decoration looks like an office, not at all warm, neither elegant. The food dinner, was presented as soecisl snd esquisite, but had no interest at all.

The outdoor bar area was Very inviting and snacks were good.

This is a wonderful hotel. Service is superb, nothing is too much trouble. During the stay it was my wife's birthday and the hotel gave her a bottle of champagne and some lovely flowers. Quality of food is outstanding. We would definitely like to return.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in and we've just spent two nights in the Presidential Suite at the Tivoli in Florence followed by three nights at the Metropole in Venice. People say it's a bit pricey, but this luxury, service and amazing location doesn't come cheap. Brilliant and worth every penny.
