I liked this hotel and was given a bright bedroom with small private shower and toilet. I liked the minibar fridge and television which was in my bedroom. The hotel was located in the centre of Bologna which was great. It is a 5 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore so I easily walked to see the magnificant Basilica di San Petronio gothic church and the Santa Maria dei Servi church. There was a great restaurant on Piazza Maggiore where I stopped for lunch 'Bar Vittorio Emanuele@ and lots of other small cafes on the same street as the Donatello Hotel selling ice-cream, pizza and coffee. I recommend the Vanity Cafe and Cafe Eden also. I found the exclusive shopping centre GALLERIA CAVOUR with designer shops: Chanel ladieswear, Gucci clothes and shoes , Armani, Louis Vuitton handbags and Max Mara shop was nearby and this is near the investment banks and a lovely area of Bologna.

Primero me dieron una habitación sin ventanas! Tremenda pedí por favor que me la cambien y enseguida me pasaron a otra ,valoro el cambio pero esa habitación no tendría que estar en uso

The location is excellent , I am 70 years old , and walked to railway station about 7 mins , every day and returned after dark.I especially liked the girls in the dance studio ! There are a few people sleeping on the opposite side of the road at night in shop door ways, they did not beg or bother me , I felt safe.My only negative point is that I wish I had stayed longer . 3 nights is not enough and I was heading for Mille Miglia in Modena. Went to the Industrial Museum in Bologna (inside old brick furnace, see images), that is very good 10/10 and Lamborghini factory tour is rushed, not as good or long as Maserati factory ! Nothing really, perhaps some wall paper needs glueing, and that step , near the lift needs painting or high lighting .
