Parador de Carmona

Impressive property in a historic location. It certainly has the Parador quality and feel to it. Rooms are great and views over the surrounding area are stunning.

Challenging to get to. Very narrow streets to navigate by car, not for the faint hearted! Unfortunately, the central quadrangle at the hotel was being remodelled and resurfaced when we were at the hotel, so it was a bit of a building site. Parking actually at the hotel was not possible but on street parking was available nearby as well as a larger public car park around the 100 metres away.

It's a paradox, what's not to like? Beautiful building & great location

We stayed here for one night as part of a longer motorcycle trip, and by this point we were starting to understand what the Parador experience offers – this one certainly didn’t disappoint. The location is outstanding, set just outside the town and within easy walking distance of the centre, which was lovely to explore. The building itself is very impressive – a large historic structure, perched up high with views out over the surrounding plains. Our room overlooked this, and the view was exceptional. Like the other Paradores we stayed in, it manages to combine the character of a historic building with the comfort of a high-quality hotel. These places could easily feel cold or imposing, but somehow they create a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere while still feeling like a luxury experience. We ate in the restaurant, which was again a highlight. The setting, service and quality of the food all contributed to a really enjoyable evening and reinforced that sense of being somewhere special. Parking is straightforward. There is a large car park just outside the main entrance, only a short walk away. For our motorcycle, we were able to park just outside the main archway, which was convenient and felt secure. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was also noticeable. Even small things like the level of care taken with cleaning and maintenance stood out and added to the overall impression of quality. There were some works taking place in the courtyard during our stay, which couldn’t really be helped and didn’t impact us significantly. If anything, it looks like it will further enhance the property once completed. Overall, another excellent Parador stay – full of character, very comfortable and in a superb location.
