Castletown Hotel

Friendly staff, comfortable.

Price a little high for what it is but thats the impact of the NC500.

The hotel was very comfortable, excellent shower, very comfortable bed. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Our room was to the rear of the hotel, so it was lovely and quiet.

A great place to stay on the N coast within easy reach of Dunnet Head & nearby Thurso, right on the main route. Hotel was great, we booked in advance for dinner & enjoyed a lovely meal even though it was busy with a large coach party. Lovely walk for our dog through woodland paths leading down to the local beach. Dunnet bay was also a great place to stop off at when the weather closed in over the peninsula.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The window in our room was poorly fitted, the wind blew through the gaps, we had to stuff it with toilet roll to stop the curtains blowing with the wind. Aside from this issue it was a good place to stop before the boat over to Orkney. Breakfast was great, the restaurant was good, with big portions.

Its a value hotel, so not that plush. The pictures on Booking.com are accurate. It's well maintained and clean. The staff were good and so eas the food. Good value for money and I would definitely come back here if i'm staying overnight in this area. Therevis a great beach 10-15 minutes walk.

Nothing to complain about.

The hotel was easy to find and in a quiet location. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was warm, comfortable and spotless. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options plus the staff brought over tea/coffee which was a very welcome change from having to use a coffee machine or teabag and hot water from an urn.

Unfortunately the car park was full on my arrival, however there was plenty free parking in one of the side streets nearby. I couldn't get the WiFi to work in my bedroom, (did not recognise the password) although it worked in the reception area and on the ground floor. The room did not have a view at all but as I was only staying overnight, this was not a major issue.
