Yialos Ios Hotel

This place is a sham! We booked it on hotels.com because of the images on the website and location. Upon arrival we were shuffled off to a cramped, old, shell of a room. The aircon was the highlight. Towels old, rough from being over washed, 1 old pillow each, no little touches like decorative pillows, artworks, toiletries apart from soap which was from Yialos?? That's where it all came together. They have two hotels that share a lovely pool. But, as an early 30's couple were blind sided. Petros Palace has the really nice newly renovated rooms in the main building, but when they cant fill Yialos they push people to the old rooms. We were not impressed. I brought this to the attention of the male owner who then proceeded to try to confuse me by asking what room type I booked. He said show me the booking, at which point I could feel the wool being pulled over my eyes and asked him what room types are there. He said we have traditional and standard. I said fine, which is which, he said old rooms are traditional and standard are new. My booking showed standard, he reversed it immediately and said yes, standard is old and new is traditional. This to me is fraudulent as are the images and the way they run two hotels in one. Positives,location is great, pool lovely and its got a nice outdoor vibe. Bar prices are crazy even for Greece, WiFi in rooms is non existent, bathroom was dirty and looked like it was built in the 60's. Breakfast was very basic and certainly nothing special.

Very helpful and friendly owners. Well appointed and very clean room, tastefully decorated in local tradition. Convenient for port, buses and local beach.

Peros Place Hotel was absolutely beautiful. The couple that ran it were super hospitable. Lovt courtyard to enjoy your breakfast on. Very clean and really close to the ferry. That worked well for us being in Ios only one night.

Paid for a superior room and definitely found it was worth the extra money. Room, facilities and staff were all fantastic. Atmosphere is incredibly friendly and relaxed. The owners are very friendly and their children run the bar at the pool. All of them are happy to tell you about the Island and point out some hot spots.

Petros place was deffintly not somewhere I would go back. Tiny rooms with no fresh air allowed to come through only air con 24/7, breakfast was horrible do not pay the extra money a day to buy, had to walk from the port to the hotel no one to pick you up. Only positive was the bar food and drinks were really good and pool side nice but deffintly better places for the price.

We chose this property for its access to the port, (small local beach & restaurants) and was perfect for that purpose. Is on only a 50 m walk to the bus stop if you want to head into the main town for the more intense nightlife or the other (more stylish) beaches. Was very affordable and had a lovely pool and pool bar.Very laid back and relaxing

Had a great time in Ios, mainly because we loved the hotel. From the start we were made to feel very welcome and pool area is really relaxing. Rooms felt a little dated in the cheaper apartments, but we were upgraded to the nicer recently renovated room for the first night. Ios is a great island with a good mix of nightlife/restaurants and beaches..... I'd definitely recommend a trip there and also at this hotel. Note however if you don't like steps you have to get the bus into town the stop is just outside.
