This was to have been a special celebration. We've stayed in this hotel before. The position is second to none. I paid quite a lot more to upgrade to a suite with a Queen sized bed rather than the usual two singles pushed together. On arrival we were allocated room 8. This was in a block that resembled a cattle shed. The room was large but there was a strong smell of damp and plaster was hanging off the walls. This was not Parador standard no matter how lovely the position. Had we stayed there my asthma would have been very bad. We were moved to room 75, in the standard accommodation area. The room was dry, clean, and had a pleasant outlook. Eventually a kettle was sourced from house keeping so that we could make a cup of tea. For dinner we visited the restaurant. The standard of service and quality of cuisine were world class. I contacted Expedia in order to get the difference returned to me. It was not immediately obvious how this could be done. There was a phone number but, you've guessed it, premium charges apply! Somehow I managed to contact their customer support and someone rang me back when we were having dinner. She'd had all day to call but no, it had to be at dinner time. I leave my phone in the room when visiting the dining room. She emailed me back saying that she could not understand my complaint. The matter is ongoing. We enjoyed our two night stay so much that we booked for a third night but directly with the hotel this time!
Service was abrupt. No hot water in the morning, had to shower at the pool. Very good restaurant. Bed was so so.
Hervorragend geeignet um Meer, Strand und Landschaft in Ruhe auf sich wirken zu lassen. Um so mehr in der Reisezeit Februar, auf Grund der Lage aber vermutlich auch in der Hochsaison. Natur- und Nationalpark sind auf jeden Fall lohnende Ausflugsziele. Sevilla (Stadtbesichtigung, Flughafen) ist knapp 2 Stunden mit dem Auto entfernt, die Anbindung (meist Autobahn) ist sehr gut.
Das Hotel liegt ideal für Strand und Nationalparkbesuch. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön und geräumig. Leider ist das Abend-Restaurant eher schwach, wobei das Frühstück sehr gut ist.Insgesamt hat der allgemeine Teil des Hotels ein Geruchsproblem, vielleicht vorübergehend. Das Personal ist nicht serviceorientiert.

Entorno paradisíaco. El Parador no es especialmente lujoso y no ofrece gran cantidad de servicios. Durante nuestra visita la zona de piscina y spa interiores estaban de reparación. Sin embargo, el enclave es fabuloso.
We visited 25 years ago. Little appears to have changed. Lovely grounds and pool. Pool-side bar and food function not yet opened in mid May (disappointing). The downstairs food offering in the main building is reasonable and the breakfast is good. We found the food (and prices) in the main restaurant for dinner not to our taste. But it's quite a way outside the parador to any nearby decent food!
Un sitio idílico, tranquilo, donde sólo se oyen las olas y los pajaritos. Situado al lado de la playa, pero a la vez muy cerca de Mazagón (se puede ir en bici, por ejemplo, por un carril bici). El parador es cómodo, amplio y está muy bien atendido. Y las vistas desde la terraza de la habitación son muy bonitas.
Jag övernattade två nätter under en affärsresa under vintern och hade tyvärr ingen tid att se besöka stranden eller skogen, men annars är läget perfekt för det. Närmaste tätort (Mazagón) med flera restauranger ligger några kilometer bort. Rummet var bekvämt med balkong och havsutsikt. Tyvärr finns ingen hiss så hotellet är inte handikappvänligt. God frukostbuffé.
