Château de La Tour

A short drive from Paris, a wonderful location to take time out. Attentive staff. Top restaurant.

I stayed at this hotel at the end of a business trip because it was very convenient to CDG, and it's a lovely hotel. And if you are a family, it would be a great choice, especially if you are a family that enjoys other families letting their kids run riot. There is a beautiful heated pool--but it was overtaken by young teenagers having water fights and smooching enthusiastically. There is a lovely and expensive restaurant--but the night I was there an 18 month old was toddling around the dining room (and my bill for dinner was nearly a hundred euro, so I did expect a reasonably calm experience) with his fingers in my wine bucket. The parents could have cared less. The staff was equally blasé. There's a nice buffet breakfast, but again there were lots of poorly controlled children running around making me wish I'd order coffee in my room or just stayed somewhere else. Now it was August and holiday time, so perhaps it's seasonal. But unless you are traveling with unruly children of your own, I would be very, very hard pressed to recommend this hotel, as lovely as it is and as great as the location is.

Uncomprimising style and situation supported by excellent service and an exquisite restaurant and menu, with non-intrusive yet attentive table service. An excellent getaway from Paris or anywhere else !

We wanted to stay in a Chateau to feel a part of French history and this hotel does exactly that. The old elegance has been updated with modern baths.The rooms spacious with nice views. The grounds tranquil. A bit in the countryside but a true find that adds to the charm. Staff very friendly and helpful.
