"Lovely family run hotel"

10.0

Whilst the hotel is by no means opulent, it is a wonderfully traditional Italian hotel. What really makes it a lovely stay is the hospitality shown by the owners. In a nutshell they cant do enough for you and are incredibly helpful and accommodating. Would stay again without hesitation.

"Quiet neighbourhood."

We were just there for a night and that too on a Sunday. We reached late, but the owner was very helpful and guided us on places to eat. A warm and helpful couple.

"Good for a cheap hotel in a picturesque village."

6.0

Hotel staff very friendly and nice. Very picturesque village and hotel well presented. It is situated quite far away from Trieste. As we didn't have a car we relied on the buses and tram which we read (from other reviews e.g. on trip advisor) were good for getting around. However, the tram has been out of action for the last 6 months, and is a 15 minute walk from the hotel anyway. The buses that stop outside of the hotel come maybe 3 or 4 times a day. The other bus stops a 5 min walk from the hotel and comes more frequently but takes between 45-60 mins usually to get to Trieste. Be careful not to get on the "hospital" bus (the one ending / [slash]). The rooms were a bit grubby. The blanket over the bed looked like it hadn't been washed in its life. There was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The walls were thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the rest of the hotel, all the bangs, conversations, toilet flushes etc. There was no food on Sunday evening when we arrived, but the owner sorted some pizza for us. Every other day the breakfast and dinners were very nice and well presented. The owner will do everything he can to make you happy. There is nothing within walking distance, no cafes or bars. All in all a nice little hotel, very good value. Good for a cheap trip, but too far from everywhere.

"Spotless"

8.0

The room was spotless. And I mean SPOTLESS! We loved the owners. Extremely nice people who didn't blink an eye when we arrived late do to a delayed flight. Breakfast was extensive and was quite the best layout of any seen on this trip. The only reason that they did not receive a 5 was due to the hard beds which were so bad that we barely slept thru the night. Most beds in Europe are firmer than those in the US so we expected them to bed a bit different than we are use to. After spending three weeks in 9 different hotels, these were the worst. That being said, I would stay with them again (and perhaps stay in another room).

"Excellent"

10.0

Marco the hotel manger was an excellent host, very informative and quite a good sense of humour. Whilst not in the city and located in the hills, about 20 minutes from Trieste by tram, the quite surroundings were perfect. We would most definetly come back. By the way the breakfast was excellent and a cold beer on the verandah in the evening was very comforting.. Excellent all round

"15 minutes to Trieste, but worth it"

10.0

I really liked my room here. Small like a normal European room, but for one person it was perfect. the room was clean, and the staff was helpful with everything. It took about 15 minutes to get to Trieste because the hotel was up on top of the hill in a nice little town. I was only here for one night, but I really liked how quiet it was.

"Nice 2-star hotel"

6.0

Very nice, very helpful people, very nice breakfast, but this is basically a 2-star hotel. No elevator, no air conditioning, and absolutely nothing around it. We were told it was a 15 minute walk to the next town, but it's along the highway, with no sidewalk, and there isn't much to offer there, either. The tram to Trieste is considered one of the top attractions - which says a lot. The prices doubled when we crossed the border from Slovenia, and we wished we'd stayed there longer and not bothered with this part of Italy.

This is a very quiet hotel in the middle of the village, very relaxing. Close to Trieste centre. The breakfast was fantastic, he staff most helpful and polite. The parking available in the hotel backyard. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place with fantastic service.

"Great B&B!!"

10.0

We stayed in Banne for 5 days during our honeymoon in North Easy Italy. There was nothing to complain about; the staff were friendly, helpful and generous. The rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard. The breakfast was also very nice, with a wide range of choice and service by the staff. As for the surroundings, it is necessary to have or rent a car if you want to go any further around the area, as the main transport connections all go to Trieste. Alla Valle di Banne is a fantastic 'base' from which you can explore this beautiful region of Italy, in close proximity to Slovenia and Croatia. Marco and Marina, thank you for a great time from Roy and Stalina!
