Staff was very friendly, effective and forthcoming. Dining at the Country House is a grand fête: delicious.

That we could stay for one night only due to our own schedule.

"Bitterly disappointing. No Welcome . Not 4*"

…. Well the room was clean. That’s about as good as it gets.

The attitude of the receptionist. Absolutely no welcome, utterly shocking. We were made to feel like she was doing is a favour by even giving us 30 seconds to give us our key and point us in the general direction of the room. Supposedly pet friendly but no signs of that. No signs of any element of friendliness to human guests never mind dogs. The advertising for the property is very misleading. The standard rooms are modern boxes in an annexe. They are not in the chateaux. The room was at best ok. Pretty basic. Poor WiFi. TV stuck in an upwards angle . Bath…. Maybe if you’re 10 years old or a size 4! No shampoo, no conditioner. Struggling yo understand how this hotel could be rated 4*.
