Becketts Hotel

We booked this hotel through hotel.com for a Bruce Springsteen concert last weekend but when we got there the room was double booked!! They had no room for us. The receptionist was very frosty and unfriendly and could brush up on her customer service skills. Thankfully she enlisted the help of the manager Colin who was extremely apologetic and very helpful. He made several calls to find another room for us in the area and got us into a lovely hotel in Lucan. He also organised tea for us while he was seeking alternative accommodation. The hotel itself is nice and quaint and but quite small with just 10 rooms which we were informed are quite tight on space. The manager very good at his job and I would imagine would do his best to ensure his guests enjoy their stay.

Really comfortable, friendly staff throughout. Only downside was the room was a bit small and breakfast wasn't as good as it could have been!

Wonderful hotel, so friendly and accommodating

Becketts was a wonderful "home base" for our ten days in Ireland. In the country visiting a daughter in Celbridge, we were easily able to see and do Dublin, the surrounding area and take day trips to the west and north. We didn't have enough days to go south, but that would have been no trouble either. The hotel is nicely appointed and well-kept. It was clean, tidy and the staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The restaurant was also outstanding. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly stay again should the opportunity arise.

Nice reception, got there late so couldn't eat as restaurant closes at 10pm. NO LIFT. So the flog upstairs with suitcase at end of long day was a pain (they did offer to help with bags but I refused before realising how high the floors were). The room (10) was fantastic - a suite of 4 rooms with access to a balcony. Lovely furnishings, excellent bed, decent shower. Pleanty of background noise from the motorway, and then the earlky morning airport take-offs go right overhead...not too bad, but not a tranquil idyl. Continental breakfast was fine, lovely fresh croissants and nice coffee (there was a fair selection of fruit and cold meats, plus Irish smoked salmon which was very good). Overall, a very good one night stay.

This is an old house converted into a hotel but unfortunately it misses out on alot of the touches that makes for a pleasant stay. To begin with we were not impressed when we drove in as the outside is quite run down looking with a gravel surfaced carpark. There is no lift so if you have have bags be prepared to carry them. We were allocated a tiny corner room with a double bed wedged in where really there is only room for a single bed, with very little space in the actual room to move around. If you are on the first floor rooms do not expect to be sleeping before 12 as the busy restaurant downstairs was hosting parties and the shouts and whoops from diners can be clearly heard in the bedroom. On the plus side the staff were really nice and we dined in the restaurant which was excellent and I would definitely recommend. The website shows beautiful spacious rooms and I'm sure they are nice but we did not get them. The room is simply not up to standard for what were being charged. If you are booking also be aware there are no baths as the en suites are only shower rooms, and the breakfast is only continental.

Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend, the hotel is just beautiful! Unlike anyother hotel! Our room was cleand and nicly decorated! Great service and we'll definately be staying here again! Cannot recommend highly enough!

This hotel remains one of my favourites for the West side of Dublin, it is very clean, a very welcoming and helpful stuff - salmon carpaccio for Breakfast was excellent, and dinner in the evening is second to none - though a bit on the expensive side. The room i've been in this time was a bit on the smaller side but every other time i've been in this hotel the other rooms were all fine!
