Parador de Lerma

Authentic, beautifull building

This is a spectacular property in terms outward appearance. The reception was efficient, friendly and informative. The receptionist took us directly to our room highlighting the dining area, bar and breakfast room on the wat and helped to carry our bags.

This is the second Parador we have stayed in during our stay and once again there is an inconsistency in the attitude and level of service from the staff e.g. It took 15mins to get any service from the wait on bar staff and a further 20mins to get the bill (my wife is practically fluent in Spanish so it's not a language issue) and it was almost as if they were doing us a favour by serving us. Also a per normal protocol we put our towels in the bath as a request for replacements only to see them hung up wet on the back of the door on our return in the evening. The main communal area is very beautiful but the carpets are disgusting and the tables are not cleaned between customers.
