B+B York

Friendly welcome on registering, and prompt action when advised that the shower basin was very slow to drain. Great location, comfy bed but would have been nice if queen size rather than standard small double. Good towels... We discovered a great restaurant for dinner only 5 min walk, in the Churchill Hotel on the main road. Pizza shack in the beer garden, but the indoor restaurant was lovely with very generous helpings and friendly staff.

The B&B was very busy, breakfast was served from 8am, while we had an appointment at 9am about 10 min walk away. Guests were assigned a table, and orders for cooked breakfast were taken and brought in strict order of arrival. This meant a delay for those arriving a bit later. The cooked breakfast itself was OK but not outstanding. We would suggest to provide a bowl of fresh fruit. The non-cooked items were fine, and self-service, including the coffee; tea had to be ordered.

J’ai dû payer ma place de parking, alors que Booking mentionne que le parking est inclus dans le tarif. Cette situation est anormale !..

Fantastic helpful staff. Excellent location, short walk to york town centre. Lovely breakfast with wide choice. Our room was great too with excellent facilities. All in all a perfect stay

Zeer mooie kamer. Deze was gelegen op de zolder van het gebouw. Keurig afgewerkt . Wel was het er erg warm een ventilator en een klein raampje gaven iets verkoeling. De buitentemperatuur was ook rond de 30 graden. Mooie grote kamer met twee stoelen en een prima badkamer. Het eten en de bediening was prima. Eigenlijk is het een soort van hotel.

Die Matratzen sind echt in die Jahre gekommen und gehören ausgetauscht. Der Frühstücksraum ist gemütlich aber leider für die vielen Gäste zu klein. Das Frühstück war lecker wenn man Eier ist, aber nach zwei Tagen könnte man Abwechslung gebrauchen oder man zieht weiter 😉

We stayed at B+B York for a weekend away as part of a mystery tour—which turned out to be even more “mysterious” when we realised we’d brought the clues for Oxford instead of York! Thankfully, a quick bit of Googling and some helpful printing from the hotel meant we were soon back on track and able to enjoy a fantastic day exploring York. The hotel is ideally located, around a 10-minute walk from York Minster, making it a great base for sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice to set you up for the day. The rooms were perfectly fine and comfortable, though the standard double bed was a little smaller than we’re used to—but not a major issue for a short stay. A big plus was being able to charge our EV on-site using the hotel charger, which was competitively priced and very convenient. Most notably, the staff were lovely and friendly throughout our stay. They also handled an unexpected incident (completely outside their control) extremely professionally, which really stood out. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a well-located hotel with great service—we’d happily return (with the correct clues next time!).

Other than the standard double bed felt smaller than we’re used to the hotel meet with our expactations.
