Hotel Ristorante Sole

Family owned, warm and friendly. The hotel is gorgeous and one feels especially good in a place where they have provided such luxurious rooms and restaurant. The views are breathtaking. Angela was fantastic and her English is excellent. Stephanie, the server was wonderful, too. The entire family and wait staff were excellent. We highly recommend this hotel. We did not have a car and had to take a bus or taxi to neighboring areas that offered more stores and entertainment. At the end of the day where tourists are all about, it was nice to escape to this wonderful hotel, Sole.

My wife and I spent 3 laid-back days at this hotel on Lake Como. Best to have a car if you want to explore the neighboring towns because public transportation is scarce and walking the main road is scarey. Has its own private beachfront. Restaurant is exceptional - Hands-down delicious food. Staff is great, too, especially Angela, mamma and pappa.

Staff most accommodating on arrival and then throughout our stay. Great room, spotless with balcony and exhilarating lake view. Gracious breakfast included. Took advantage of special 3day half pension rate ... fine setting with excellently prepared and presented dinners. Delightful surroundings with many activities and amenities, e.g., walks to 13th century castle in proximal ancient city, hikes in the mountains, lake access, cultural enrichment with art and gardens (Villa Carlotta), ferry to Bellagio, feste in Menaggio (all near-by). Five star value at three star rates. Car is helpful for getting around but requires an adjustment to European driving techniques. Must return.
