This old hotel in the pedestrian precinct in Lienz is a real gem. While the hotel is very old world, the rooms are nicely renovated and very comfortable. The breakfast spread in the dining room was superb and the hotel's sauna and pool area is a great place to relax at the end of the day. The view over the city and of the rugged mountains is amazing. I rate this hotel as the best value for money of any accommodation that I have booked during 8 weeks in Europe. It is also located only 5 minutes walk from the station which makes it very easy if you are traveling by train.

I could not fault anything at this hotel - it is truly wonderful.

Liked everything I upgraded as d room I booked with booking.com had no view.

Our room was big & the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good.

There was no air conditioning in the room, only a window which opened at the top (and too large to open fully because it would extend into the room). The bathroom fan did not work. The shower was in the bath and pointed across the width of the bath, making access to the water very difficult. The room needs to be refurbished to justify the tariff.

Die Lage ist perfekt. Sehr gut auch der Gratis-Parkplatz. Obwohl schon ein älteres Hotel waren die Zimmer sehr sauber, geräumig und mit Couch, Tisch, Minikühlschrank ausgestattet. Die Fenster halten den Morgenlärm (man ist halt mitten in der City) hervorragend ab. Das Bad groß, man kann bequem zu zweit vor dem großzügigen Spiegel werken. Sehr sehr sauber, jeden Tag frische Bodenmatte. Weiches WC-Papier ausreichend Kosmetiktücher, Duschgel, Handseife... Der Frühstücksraum wunderschön, auch großzügig gestaltet. Man sitzt nicht Rücken an Rücken mit Fremden. Tolles Buffet, wieder sehr sauber, gepflegt. Bestimmt für jeden was dabei. Frische Säfte, nicht aus dem Automat. Kaffeemaschine und heißes Wasser für Tee- echt toll. Das Obst und Gemüse knackig und frisch. Der Marmorkuchen- einfach ein Traum. Die gemütliche Lounge im Erdgeschoß haben wir großzügig bis nach Mitternacht für uns allein nutzen können.

Das Gebäck hat uns nicht überzeugt. Jourgebäck mögen wir sowieso nicht, war teilweise trocken und hart. Als 1x nichts mehr da war ( um 8:45, obwohl Frühstück bis 10:00), wurde zwar etwas unwillig aber doch rasch für Nachschub gesorgt. Das war normales Gebäck und richtig gut. Die Kännchen für Tee sind vom Fassungsvermögen nicht viel größer als eine Teetasse. Waren mir persönlich zu klein.
