Auberge Le Saladier

This is a modest yet well-equipped accommodation located in the heart of Mahebourg. It offers everything you need to ensure a comfortable stay for a few days. The owners are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was simple but exquisite, and you can also make your own tea or coffee throughout the day. The location is great, in a quiet street extremely close to the waterfront, supermarkets, restaurants, bus stop and bus terminal, which make it very easy to reach the nearest beaches. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable here. I would definitely recommend it!

The water stream from the faucet wasn't consistently smooth: occasionally, there was either too little or too much pressure. However, this didn't significantly affect my experience. Everything else was perfect!

I spent the 2 first nights of my solo trip in Mauritius there, and in no time felt like home. This, is solely thanks to Younoos & Jill’ warm and friendly hospitality. They welcome you as they would welcome a friend to their home, making sure that you feel good and well rested so that you can focus on all your explorations. In terms of facilities, their lovely Auberge was exactly what I was looking for. A spacious, clean, comfortable and safe space to rest after a long day. Every room has its own balcony corner w/ table and chairs, which makes it extra to relax one’s tired feet while listening to the local birds singing in the inner garden. The location is the best. 5 minutes away from local and authentic restaurants. Less than 10 minutes away from the central bus station connecting you to the entire island. As you guessed, I really enjoyed my stay and felt like I was leaving my home when I had to go. But! I’m sure I will come back for my next trip to Mauritius. I would recommend it to my friends/family.

Nice room with comfy bed. Amazing people there, very friendly and hospitable, at 2nd day we started to feel like at home. Perfect location, it’s close to everything: supermarket, food bazaar, bus station, museum, restaurants that can be reached by foot. Nice terrace on the second floor, where we enjoyed singing birds during evenings.

Yunus was so friendly and welcoming, and helpful for tips on getting around. He even dropped me off at the airport when there were no taxis available. The location is good, very close to the bus for Blue Bay and also a short walk into Mahébourg centre, with nice restaurants around. Yunus and Jill are also very easygoing and accommodating for breakfast and you can use the tea and coffee facilities anytime. They were also very generous in letting me leave my things on my checkout day as I had a late evening flight. The room and bathroom are quite basic but match the price and were both clean. For a low cost and very welcoming stay I definitely recommend.
