Colina Da Faja

Our room was cleaned on a daily & the staff was lovely. The breakfast is basic but delicious - they make fresh cake every other day, delish. You can use the kitchen if you need to. The villa is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views. Pool was clean. Safe parking. Minibar, board games , close to bars & restaurants. Easy access to the beach and great levada walks around. 40 min drive to Funchal, approx 1h drive to the Picos. We would stay again. :)

Nothing that ruined our stay, but just a few tweaks that’d make the place more comfortable: the floors and beds ( hard mattress - which we didn’t mind) are squeaky and noisy. Pillows very thin, blankets instead of duvet. Light in the rooms could be better. The sun loungers should be replaced - there’s mould on them and not very stable. ( not advertised, but just as a reminder, there’s no AC. ) When you drive to the villa, the road is VERY steep and there’s a gap with no fence closer to the entrance of the house. Drive carefully. Maybe the owner will notice that and will add a little fence there, as during night time it can be very dangerous for new drivers / beginners.

The pool was very dirty (green) it would’ve been nice to have a pool since temperatures are rising. Getting there you need a car and it gets very scary since it’s a very steep and small hill

Breakfast was good and the staff very accommodating. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day and the rest of the property was clean too.

The bed cover and cushions were dated. The pillows were very thin. We would prefer a duvet rather than blankets. Lighting could have been brighter for reading. The laundry basket in the breakfast area looked scruffy. The road to the property needs a safety fence as there was a gap where the car could go over a very steep drop.

Everything was good. Starting from provided information and throughout whole stay. Property is in one of small villages with stunning views from it and infinity pool. Despite not best weather I enjoyed it. Really liked “Courtesy wine bar” as well. Nothing to complain

We loved the house. It was beautiful. Location was ideal to hike but you will need a car. The area was quiet and beautiful!!! We loved the small villages in the mountains and hill tops. Breakfast was lovely! Great staff who took care of us. The room was stunning. We also used the pool almost every day. It was amazing. Cold but the views were fabulous. With a car we would return in a heart beat!

The beds were a little hard. It was difficult to get to without a car.

The name of the villa is well founded😅 with the little mountain like evry Road on the top of madeira! If you're adventurous, it's for you. The view is beautiful
