Great character in a fabulous location at the heart of the city

No real issues, one slight noticeable thing, no mirror in our room. Really minor but noticed it.

We loved the very friendly welcome, staff especillay Bruno, Francois and Rio were very friendly and helpful every time we entered, had breakfast, diner or had a question. Location is super, close to the castle, no traffic, close by the city center and alfama and quite at night.

Das Frühstück war super, der Blick spitze und ganz besonders waren die Angestellten unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und offen. Wir haben durch sie nicht nur super Service während des Aufenthalts genießen können, sondern haben alles mögliche über Lissabon und die Umgebung erfahren, konnten vieles über die Bedingungen für Einheimische in Lissabon und Portugal erfahren und waren durch und durch glücklich mit allem was diesbezüglich zu bedenken ist. Gut gefallen hat uns auch, dass der Aufstieg wirklich nicht so schlimm ist, wie es manche Bewertungen klingen lassen. Außerdem ist man nahe an wunderschönen Ausblickspunkten, ist schnell bei der Burg oben bevor sich eine Schlange bildet und kann schon zum Frühstück einen schönen Ausblick genießen. Tipp: Pastel de Nata ist in der Bäckerei daneben die Beste - und wir waren auch in Belem.

This hotel has the best view of Lisbon and very friendly staff

There is no elevator so if you are staying in the room on the top floor be ready to climb a lot of stairs

Toller service, fantastischer Ausblick, super Zimmer mit hervorragendem Bett.

Alles war gut. Keinerlei Beschwerde.

The room was very clean and housekeeping excellent. Corridor to rooms is rather strange and smells damp. Didn’t have breakfast, used the little cafe next door for coffee and a pastry. Can be noisy at night if windows are open, seemed to be people walking down nearby steps. Hotel is well located and very close to the Castle lift. Easy walk to the castle.

Beautiful room and excellent service. Rio and François were both extremely helpful and friendly and I will definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful welcome from Francois, despite arriving well before check in time. We were given a complimentary glass of very pleasant wine and offered a table on the restaurant terrace whist we waited, with a marvelous view over the red roofs of Lisbon down to the river. We were offered a free upgrade to a room on a higher floor which had a fabulous view and we would highly recommend this spacious room (no 6). Very comfortable and very quiet, including overnight. Only draw back is several flights of stairs and no elevator. Staff happy to take luggage however. Complimentary decanter of port and plate of fresh fruit was a lovely touch. The breakfast is tasty and the restaurant food great, and very good value with the 15% discount for residents. Location worked for us as visit to the castle was a priority - very close to hotel. Would also like to thank Bruno who was very helpful during our stay. Would recommend the transfer taxi service even though more expensive than the taxi we took from the airport. Their taxi service knows the hotel and can get directly to the door whereas if taxis come in the wrong way you have a short walk up a cobbled slope as road closed. Book at least 24 hours in advance though.

The stairs up felt a challenge at times but the fabulous room made it worthwhile, and don't worry about carrying luggage, it's sorted for you. You can also request a lower level room if mobility an issue. Personally not a fan of a glass door for the shower/bathroom but that's probably my age! It was nevertheless a lovely bathroom and immaculately clean.
