Please note that construction work is going on nearby and some rooms may be affected by noise. The cancelation deadline is 15:00 (see the 'Cancelation' section for day). Guests booking Party Packages may experience noise at night due to loud music played at the bar. Upon check-in you will need to provide a payment card for pre-authorization for the room rate, plus an additional GBP 200 and a photo ID. Cash payments/deposits cannot be accepted. While Velvet Hotel does it's best to minimize noise disruption, due to it's location in Manchester’s Gay Village, some external noise is unavoidable during busier periods (including Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings). The hotel reception can provide ear plugs on request. Village Brasserie is currently closed for refurbishment works. The hotel reception can provide alternative restaurant recommendations. Velvet Bar remains open for drinks only. "Great hotel, highly recommend"

Great location, nice bed, good shower, very nice continental breakfast

Building works next door, forgot to shut window so was woken by bottles being cleared early doors. No free flag of Kyle on entry which has always happened in the past.

"Stains and light pains!"

Hotel public areas were nice. Great location.

Part of the room had a glass ceiling with blinds that didn't cover the glass, light streamed in a 5am meaning a terrible nights sleep. Also red hot in there and air con was pretty poor and couldn't be adjusted. Bed sheet had suspicious stains on it, was changed when we complained. We did tell the girl on reception about the terrible blinds and lack of sleep, she kind of shrugged it off. Heigh ho. If you get given that room, just ask to swap straight away.

Great location, very friendly and accommodating staff.

The lift at the back of the hotel (to get to room 36) is the dodgiest lift I’ve ever been in. It fell down two floors, then carried on. This should be looked at.

"Pleasant stay,helpful staff within walking distance to trains and buses and large shopping area."

Proximity to ameneties and city centre.

We didnt order breakfast when we checked in but changed our minds next morning as it was raining .We could not get breakfast as it has to be pre ordered, I assume hotel doesnt have its own kitchen. No problem,we ate out instead.

Lovely staff and nice hotel

Far too noisy was woken up at 5 am had to go and complain twice and found it difficult to get back to sleep
